Lowering Rx-8 fitment problems?

I have an 04 rx-8 and i believe it is time to upgrade the suspension since i have the money i was going to say screw it and get coil-overs... i have been hearing that fitment might be an issue if i want to slam the car.( for shows and other things) Some people say it will be fine but others in the past have had to rip off the side lights and cut into fenders in order make the tires not rub.....

Am i going to have to do major modifications to get everything to fit or is it fairly straight forward?

another option i was pondering was getting air ride suspension so i would be able to change the hight before i drove..... it is a bit pricy though = \

any information would be helpful
thanks!

Well it all depends on what your doing I currently have a 2inch drop with sprint sprints running a 275 in the rear and I'm going to have my fenders rolled so I don't cut the tires but it all has to do with tires and wheels that u are going to be running with.

im working with 225/45 91W Falken tires on 18 inch verde rims front and back

looking towards the tein flex coilovers

Everything i do to my car i can take off and you will never know it has been messed with...i just dont want to really cut into the car incase i ever need to get it back to stock for selling the car etc...

Im liking the blue by the way

if your rims are sitting "flush" with your body, youre going to need a fender roll, if they sit like the stock rims most likely you wont have to touch anything...
