Okay, so I want an exhaust system without the cat. I'm thinking of getting the Greddy SP2 dual cat-back system. Would it be better (better as in more power) for me to gut my cat, or actually get a nice mid-pipe? And if I did go cat-less, would it throw a CEL code? And if it does, how do you clear it permanently? Also, would I still need the O2 sensors on the exhaust if I went cat-less? That being said, would/should I need to tune anything when the whole exhaust system is installed?

no you dont need the o2 sensor but most midpipes have a spot for it so its best to keep it in there.
as far as power goes there isnt going to be much of a difference between gutted cat and aftermarket midpipe however there will be a big difference in sounds, Ill leave this for you to search to see what fits your needs and preferences. As far as cel's, it almost seems like its hit or miss, I threw a cel with my turboxs system but I have a cobb ap so I was able to clear it off. and no you would not need a tune and its not necessary however it will give you the opportunity for the most power if you do tune the car (200 dollar service from mm with a cobb ap or buy the ap from him for 500 and get a free tune). |
Okay. If I did throw a CEL, is there any way to remove it without using the COBB?

Okay. Another set of ?'s. I was going to get a AP Under-drive Pulley with the belt. There's a set of pulleys for the 8 on rx7store.net. Which one would be better to get (power wise). Also, is there any A/C delete kit made for the 8? I have an 04'.

Ac delete is speedsource. It's the only one that makes any power.
