just got my RX-8 need help!
HI all, Just got my 2004 RX-8 with 40,000 miles and love it! IT's in great shape and was really nourished by the previous owners. Anyway, I have a question about lowering the car. I've been lookin at all the different springs out there and they all seem to lower the car at different heights. Basically I wanna lower the car as much as possible to eliminate as much wheel well space as possible but still keep it a safe drop. TEin? Eibach? Sprint? And will the OEM shocks do okay with lowering springs or do I have to get some aftermarket shocks as well? I really don't want to buy anything other than the springs. Also do I need a camber kit? OR can the camber be corrected with an alignment? Thanks for any insight you can provide....

All I can say is SEARCH..there are dozens of posts on these topics...
If you can't find an answer after a few hours.....then come back and ask specific questions...then you might get some help |

start there.. what do you consider a "safe drop"? most will advise that shocks are a good idea. i dont see much talk of camber kits around here, but thats where reading through that section of the forum will help |

the oem shocks are decent enough for a conservative drop.. however, they will not last as long as they would have had with oem springs..
be prepared to pay for an alignment as well |

you have to get an alignment after you replace your suspension? huh.. i guess that makes sense.
i want a seriously slammed ride. i go really slow over bumps as it is so it wont make a difference. do you guys know of anything that drops it like 2+"? are coilovers my only option? |
Good luck woth your 2004 8. I have one to and am having fun despite the crappy gas prices.
|
|
the problem with "seriously slamming" an RX8 is that you can screw up the something the car excells at, cornering.
|
Racing Beat w/ Tociko shocks are your best bet.
