I agree. But I guess it is proven for performance showing the weight reduction and HP gain, if it actually did gain hp.

Yet again, Racing Beat is claiming 5HP increase with absolutely nothing connected to the engine. Even their racing exhaust is doing no much better than the earlier version with less baffles and less restrictions. Meanwhile, I believe JIC is saying otherwise (in excess of 10HP) with their muffler. How in the name of God is this possible? Someone is pulling our leg here. I strongly believe Racing Beat have no motive to lie to us, but JIC has said it showed the significant gains on a dyno. Who is right?

Well... Rotary Performance, Borla, and TurboXS all have dyno's that show similar levels of gains as JIC is apparently claiming.

Racing Beat has no motive to lie? Its called having to give people a way to justify buying their exhaust when it picks up half the power of other companies, weighs more then everyonele's, and costs the same.

I think it would look funny on the 8 with a stock bumper the left side would be empty.

I find it hard to believe that a company who has been specializing in rotary performance for over 2 decades cant manage to put out a better system then the other vendors.

My guess is RB tells the truth, the other companies embellish it a bit.

Racing Beat is the only company I know that have engine dynoed our Renesis. Not to mention there connection with Mazda. Why would Racing Beat have an engine dyno only to not give us the real answer, and 'fabricate' such a low number? Are all the other companies lying? There are a lot of biased members on this forum that favor Racing Beat and vise versa. However, this is their version of their 'no holds barred' exhaust system. Other than the fact that they didn't use exotic metals like titanium to further lighten the weight and chose stainless for durability/cost reasons and sound levels to 92dB, this was there best effort. It all comes down the that engine dyno. Have there been a member on this forum who have actually dynoed an exhaust system that have proved Racing Beat wrong?

Well, there's plenty of dynos showing more than 8hp gains (RB's claim) with a midpipe. Does that prove anything? Probably not. A dyno is not a yardstick.

I have a JIC Titanium on my car right now. No more than 3-4 hp gain across the rev range, so their claims are BS (more about the weight savings for me). Also, I haven't seen a midpipe give more than 8-9 hp so that is pretty legit. I have the RP Supercat on my car right now.

Look at Polak's dynoes with exhaust, & flywheel & clutch added in he got about 10 hp at the top end (and lost a bit of tq).

well, other exhaust companies design their mufflers/piping/ect... RB is getting mufflers supplied to them and are just fitting them with the correct piping -shrug-

It does not protrude through the rear bumper opening. It terminates behind the bumper cover and points down.

But supplied to them by their specs :)

So you dont see it at all? I'd have to see pics of that hard to decide what it would look like. Thanks for clearing it up though

I was going to make a custon one-off rear bumper cover, and change the openings to something else, but to exactly what, I'm not sure. Just thinking about it...

So two questions. 1) why is it not closer to half the weight of stock...or more? (actually it is close to half the weight of their dual muffler system, which is heavier than stock, so I guess I answered my own question) 2) Is it sans the neck-down at the cat, i.e. is it 3 inch all the way through?

Also, has anyone ever just taken off that black facia on a stock rear bumper? Any pics? If you did that it would give a nice view under the car. Very Evo like.

The middle part of the bumper is painted black, and is part of the bumper. It is one piece. :)

Hum.. . How about cutting it off? COuld someone do a photochop for me? I realize this could be very hard cause you need to take the bumper off and take a pic.

A very astute friend of mine noted that the midpipe is not shown in the pic. I assume they will ship with the mid from the dualie?

Actually it would be very easy to design and produce a single piece lower rear bumper center insert where you would remove the two side surrounds and cut off the attached center piece of the OE bumper and replace them with a new separate, single piece that fills the entire area. You could offer both a dual tip or single center tip outlet design ...

I would like to at least hear a sound clip of this setup. I'm looking at a daily driver setup. I know I could go lighter with a one-off custom for track days, but a nice sound would be really cool. I'm a little loud right now with my setup, and those that have the same as me can agree. If pointing the single tip straight down helps, and it is a "more exotic sound like that of a tuned V-6 engine", then this seems interesting to study.
