I think my Rp supercat is dead.....
 

ive had my supercat for about 8k miles and its been great, but this morning i got a check engine light on my way to work. everything seemed fine it drove normal and everything. at work i pulled the code and it was a po420 (catalyst efficiency low bank 1)
so i think my cat is dead. its the newest one so i dont know why it failed. my car is running fine and i had the coils plugs and wires replaced about 1k miles after i put the supercat on so im out of ideas. does anybody know the number of the company that sells the rp cat? i wanna see if they will warranty it, they should cuz its fairly new. the only mods my car has other than the cat is a K&N intake. i tried searching around but could not find it(the number)..if it matters my car is a 2004 6spd with 68k thanks

call rotary performance and tell them. They have replaced them of some that have burned up the old metal cats. also maybe take off the supercat and have a look inside.

i cant find there numer, do you know where i can find it?

I called that place and they say they are not the makers of the rp supercat? they told me that the rx7 store was the supllier of the cat..

ok i spoke to chris and he was very helpfull.i told him wat happend and he said that they have only had 1 other problem with the newer version 2 cat (which is wat i have) only one other time and that was due to bad coils. but like i said my coils plugs and wires were new when i put the cat on.

anyone have an idea wat may have caused it to fail if my coils/plugs/wires were all good?

so he said drive it around and see if the light comes back, if it does he said to send it in and they will flow test it and if it is bad they will replace it for free. that right there is some great customer service. ill update if the light comes back on.

Update...so it ook my rp cat off today and swapped it with my stock cat. when i got the rp cat off i looked inside it and saw this. looks like it actualy came apart internally, check it out...

this is looking inside the cat, right off the exhaust manifold.. im going to call them back and let em know wat happend, im hoping they will step up and replace it
