HKS USA Lowers Their Prices

HKS USA has lowered their prices for the North American market. I came across this while browsing through their website: http://www.hksusa.com/info/?id=3035

Some of the noticeable price drops I found were:
FD3S TO4Z Turbo Kit was $7540 MSRP is now $6395 MSRP.

FC3S Silent Hi-Power Exhaust was $710 MSRP is now $640 MSRP.

RX8 Legamax Exhaust was $1295 MSRP is now $1095 MSRP.

So if there is anyone that is currently looking into getting some HKS products for their rotaries, this would be a good time.

For those considering the legamax here is a link to a good video of it

That being said, I heard it sounds better with time(dont forget about that vid XDEEDUBBX)

Awesome news for anyone looking into HKS!

At even the "low" price of $1100, that's a complete ripoff for a stainless steel exhaust.

$1095 MSRP is still a little high, but it's $200 less than before! :)

mlane302 05-18-2006 07:02 PM

that should put the street price around 750ish, thats not much more than RB, Hymee, and others...

Yep, 200 dollars less of a ripoff :p:

don't hate, you get what you pay for...if you don't like the prices then don't consider it.

ddub 05-19-2006 12:01 AM

Explain to me what you get from the HKS exhaust, for example, that is so superior to the other exhausts out there that makes it worth the high price.

I just don't understand this "you get what you pay for" comment you made. I don't see the HKS products as being anything better, more power yielding, or more durable than other products on the market. But maybe I'm missing something?

Jedi54 05-19-2006 12:10 AM

you're right dDub, you are definitely missing something, it's called tact! This was a very simple thread announcing lower prices. If you don't get it or have a gripe with the products then just take it elsewhere.

XDEEDUBBX 05-19-2006 12:20 AM

Obviosuly you are missing something. Not dogging on other products out there, but over the past years we have all established what bolt on parts will do to our cars......not much, but if other owners want to purchase products other than "RX8 store exhausts or AEM intakes" let them be. If I want spend an extra 100 bucks on an exhaust so what! If 100 bucks is considered a "rip off" to you then more power to you. I'm not going to go crazy and start whining over 100-etc bucks?!?

MezMorada 05-19-2006 12:44 AM

Heh i got my HKS legamax when it was $1295 msrp, paid $1000 for it though... Oh, well

100 bucks? You mean 500-600 bucks right? 1100 for HKS 500-600 for average other exhausts.

Yah you can do whatever you want man, I don't care it's your money :p:

I was just asking what you meant by your comment "you get what you pay for." It seemed like you were implying that other exhausts are of inferior durability and quality is all. I just got confused by that statement.

XDEEDUBBX 05-19-2006 02:18 AM

confused is right, please keep your hacking for another thread, and stop being so bitter. If you want to be bitter about hks products and prices, you can im me all you want and rant there. So stop wasting your time on this thread.

as far as the 2nd part of your post goes about the "inferior durability" man stop putting words in my mouth. Read the beggining of post #11 very carefully. And did I forget to mention, THIS THREAD WAS ABOUT HKS PRODUCTS! :wallbash: :wallbash:

I fell into this trap. I thought I was getting good stuff from Greddy, and not paying as much. Turns out I was wrong, and I have paid dearly for that. Wound up having to go back and changing some stuff out. If the cheap $ is all you look at, then Billy Bob's hacked, stock exhaust might be a good fit. Not saying Companies like Racing Beat, JIC, etc. don't make really good exhausts, but HKS is top quality stuff, that works 1st rate, fits 1st rate. Pay a lot, get a lot. I don't have a problem with that. If you have a retail price, and a street price that is comparable to other exhausts then I consider the street price what you can get it for. In that case the HKS is right around the other exhausts, maybe a bit higher. If you look at companies like Racing Beat, there is very little room from retail to the vendors. Best I ever saw was something like a $20 discount at RX8 store, and now Jason is in the process of pulling out of his RB contract. This is from someone who has extensive RB products, JIC products, Greddy products, etc. on his car. One thing I have also experienced is that HKS is far & away a much better customer service company than Greddy. I will be posting my experiences shortly on my massive travails with Greddy, but when I have worked with HKS, they stand behind their products. You have a problem, it get's resolved...quickly & cleanly. Greddy is the EXACT OPPOSITE. They don't give a rat's ass about customer service & quality. You have a problem with one of their products, just try & get it replaced. You have to jump through so many hoops you would think you were in a bowl of Cheerios.

mlane302 05-19-2006 03:10 AM

dDUB, that is the list price, it sells for 933ish now, making the new price about 733ish, hence his comment about 100 dollars, simple math really

Such anger. It's hard to convey emotion on the internet, but if it I could you'd realize most my posts are in jest, not bitterness.

Calm down man, it's not the end of the world.

XDEEDUBBX 05-19-2006 10:01 AM

let it go...

anyway, but dam thats a nice little discount for that T04Z!

Red Devil 05-19-2006 10:40 AM

Damn, I was hoping their RS coilovers had gone down in price also. I've been contemplating getting those for a while.

XDEEDUBBX 05-19-2006 11:22 AM

the price for the db meters also went down about 20%. Too bad I don't have a turbo =(
