HKS Hi Power louder than Greddy SP2?
Hello all, I have a Racing Beat test pipe paired with the Greddy SP2 and I want to switch my catback to HKS Hi Power or the RR Single exit. Will switching my catback to HKS be significantly louder than the Greddy? If it is im considering going back to OEM cat until I can get a Dual Resonated midpipe. Youtube videos dont do justice.

she will be loud!!!
|
What about with Dual Resonated Racing Beat or BHR dual resonated.
|
Damn no comments on this? lol
|
with the racing beat midpipe, the sound will be at a tolerable level. RB Dual rez midpipe is the quietest midpipe you can get.
as for BHR, i have heard nothing but Positive opinions about it. it's also a quiet mid-pipe. give any of them a try, you wont regret it.

I switched from Greddy SP2 to HKS. Single exit will be louder than dual, hands down. I also tried the stock cat, the stock header, racing beat header, my exoticspeed race pipe, and racing beat's dual resonated midpipe. Here are some video's you should watch:
OE Header, ExoticSpeed Mid, Greddy SP2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqRSo6iS1T4 OE Header, ExoticSpeed Mid, HKS Hipower: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0TzWdT7Ej0 OE Header, Racing Beat Mid, HKS Hipower: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkEoYCAoKds If you throw a header (Racing beat's for example), you really really increase the volume: http://www.vimeo.com/13059111 Finally, if you wanted racing beat header, exoticspeed mid, and hks hipower: http://www.vimeo.com/21846970 That should answer your volume questions for a bunch of exhaust configurations. |
I know its really hard to tell on youtube on the different setups. so to your own ears in person which setup seemed the quietest to you? Boosted will happen on this car so I want a setup thats quiet for unwanted attention purposes.

oe header, rb dual resonated, and hks hipower. I could hear my intake again! After swapping the header...i really couldn't hear my intake any more.
tl;dr - racing beat dual resonated or bhr. I plan on buying a bhr pipe or the resonator soon. |
Yeah I think that would be the best combo. I have the opportunity to get the exoticspeed catback but I read it had fitment issues. Hmmm
|
No rasp with the rb mid and hks hi power right?
|
not really...there is some after 8k, but hiding the rasp of a rotary...is a challenge
|
im okay with the 8k rasp. I dont like hitting a major rasp wall at 4k haha. Winding out the motor it should have rasp since its rotary.

When you say exoticspeed race pipe do you mean the racing midpipe "cat delete" or the racing midpipe "catalyzer" ? Im a little confused on the two they offer on their website. |

race pipe is a cat delete...racing cat is a high flow cat which is emissions legal in most states.
