Hard Piping

For the intake... not looking to buy aftermarket, after doing as much research as possible and searching like all hell, I decided to keep the stock air-box with a K&N drop in and I'm currently having a DeeDub Duct modified to fit a 3" Coupler (with no leaks) the thing here that I'm not yet satisfied with is the ugly ribbed intake piping that is all squished up by the intake manifold... What I'd like to know is this.. is there a company that will make a piping set up to simply replace that section of the intake and maybe the maf sensor too? Or do i have to buy a full Mazdaspeed Or AEM intake and part it out?

Appreciate ya ahead of time.

If you do have one made it will cast ya. It will look cool. Let us know if you find anything.

so i take it that means noone makes one???
Definitely not wanting to make one... But it seems like i have unusual wants (CF duct with no leaks In getting custom made right now??? a 100 dollar part being made into a 300 dollar part????) and they all have to be custom... didn't expect that....

that joint is there because the airbox is bolted to the chassis (which doesn't move) while the the throttle body is affixed to the engine (which moves)... any intake system is going to have an expansion joint somewhere

Can't you get the MAF tube and couplers at Pep Boys? I thought I heard that somewhere.

+1... there is a reason to the design.
Setups like AEM/MS has a coupling near the bumper (close to where they are physically bolted) to allow flexing:
Attachment 135702

Something similar is required for you to make it work properly.
Having a coupler before the throttle body would also need to be a reducer.
Just keep these in mind.

ahhh.. i see.. well in that case... that means that the maf is effectively bolted down with the airbox... and I'd have to get a SUPER soft coupler to allow flex between the maf and the hard pipe thats essentially what you're saying right?

Gotcha... I wonder if there is anywhere i could pick up a flex coupler like that... and after that... pretty much any 3" pipe would do right? weld on a nip for the Oil catch can later on but other than that theres not much else i would need would there?

Fix... 3 nips...
