GREDDY TURBO q's?

hi guys, maybe you can help me w/ this. I'm selling a lot of my parts right now so i can pick this turbo up. But i do have a couple questions that you can help me with.

1. How much does it cost, on average, to get this unit installed?
2. Besides the BOV, what else will i need for this turbo? which guages, etc?
3. Once the turbo is installed, is it straight "plug and play?" I know that there is tuning involved, but how hard is it to tune it?
4. What is involved in the tuning process?
5. How much HP am i looking to be up to w/ the turbo w/o the tuning? w/ tuning?
6. Given this extra power, will i have to upgrade to a stronger clutch, pressure plates, bearings, lighter flywheel? I know it's recommended, but how necessary is it?

What's the downside of buying a used turbo?

Thanks for all your help guys!!!

You may want to do a search on this matter, there are tons of threads cover this but here is a quick answer.

1. 500 to 1000 to install
2. a/f ratio, oil pressure, egt are almost necessity (i have oil pressure, oil temp, egt, boost, air/fuel ratio).
3. everything to need to drive comes with the kit including stock tune on the emange although it is very rich and has its issues on its own. Tuning is not too diffucult if you understand what is going on and have access to a dyno (or at least a g tech) and reliable way to monitor a/f ratio. You also need a laptop to connect to emanage or a profec e-01)
4. You take away fuel or add fuel depending on what is needed at different rpms. Fuel is expressed in percent of injector used (50%, 60%, etc.0
5. Most these days are getting around 210-220 whp, with a tune and raising boost, 260-270 whp (luis schiavo on here is getting that now). Philodox had 247 whp but was the first on here with turbo.
6. just run that stuff until it breaks if you cannot or do not want to buy it right now. i am running stock clutch, stock flywheel, etc and no problems so far. I will upgrade them as they wear or I break them!

Downside of buying a turbo, not much right now, they have only been out since december but i would imagine it would be easy to have some parts missing.

You may also want to look into turbo timers to let your turbo cool down so the oil does not "coke" when you turn off your car, a colder set of plugs to help prevent detonation, a boost controller, an oil catch can.

They are not all necessary but for sure great to have!

Good luck

Chris
