Greddy SP2 install

Finally got the Greddy sp2 exhaust install today. Man the sound alone was much better tan stock. A little on the lound side though, but a good loud sound. Anybody else had the SP2 install? and how do you like it?

I just got mine as well, it is sitting in the garage until I bring it in to my friends shop to have it installed. My REVi made it a bit louder and hopefully the greddy will make it a bit louder for a more agressive sound.

It's been one full day now since the install. Man I am loving it. How much lighter is the SP2 over stock. I didn't get the chance to weigh. The guy at the shop told me that it is atleast 5-10 pound lighter.

Talked about this in another thread & the difference was 5 lbs. (34 lbs. for Greddy & pipe, 39 lbs. for stock unit).

Thank Fanman for the info.

Give an exhaust a few days to 'mellow'. What you hear when you start it for the first time isn't what it'll sound like after being on the car awhile. Has to do with getting moisture in the muffler packing, which will tone it down a bit. Not a huge difference, just a little more mellow. After a long and/or aggressive drive, you also may notice it get louder, as the packing gets totally dried out again. No biggie, just mentioning in case you notice subtle changes in the tone.

Try to find a highway underpass or tunnel, and run it up to redline... there ain't no finer sound than a rotary at 9kRPM being amplified by the SP2 :)

Except for mine with the B&B midpipe in front of it. :)

went thru the tunel today and let here rip. Man, I think I might scare some old ladies next to me, but your right. The sound was intoxicating. Me like it.

I'm very happy with exhaust system. After all, it's a win win situation. one, the car sound a lot better, two I save about 5 lbs, and 3 I get about 2-3 hps. Oh, and I love those big tips.

I decided to go with the Greddy system becuase I have deal with them befor and they alway make quality stuff. Plus there parent company in Japan is Trust and the are one of the most respected after maket company there. So, that is why I trust in the quality of the exhaust system.

I just received my SP2 today as well! I'm super excited to install it extremely soon...

Before I do, any tips/hints before installing? I've searched around and heard I should remove the lower black grill on the rear bumper (I'll be using a jack and jack stands)

I've also heard... theres a stray ground strap? What's that about? Can anyone help me out... :) Thanks alot!

You need to just remove the plastic trim around the exhaust tips, be careful the plastic tabs break easy.

The SP2 does not have a mounting point for the ground strap, I rigged one with a ground clamp used in plumbing. You also might find the links below helpful.

Just out of curiousity, what was that grounding strap for? (Notice the past tense, as I decided if Greddy didn't think it was important, neither did I : )

Not sure myself, but it's there for some reason. Some other aftermarket exhausts do have a mount point for it FYI. You can also buy them
