Greddy Kit Gone Bye Bye
It is interesting to see Mazdatrix has abandon the greddy kit. Wonder why? They claim its because of illegal emission control and voiding factory warrenty. Seems kinda lame excuse.
Well, those are valid reasons for them. They sell products that don't void factory warranty and illegal for emission control.
Not like it stops anyone from buying the kit... but it is indeed not going to pass any emission tests, and it will end all chances of engine warranty at your local dealership. |
When they did sell the kit they stated that it would void the warranty and would not be emissions legal. There was probably another reason since they already knew this.
Maybe they can't get anymore in stock? Since it is backordered.
^^^backordered and i noticed the price has gone up....damn demand and no supply
Do we know for a fact it wont pass emissions?

rx8 store still has turbo kit in stock i got mine yesterday thats how i know

It will definitely pass emissions in Maryland and any other states where there is just an OBD-II port test and a visual inspection for a CEL, presence of a CAT and an non-vented gas cap.
considering they're in California where the most of their sales are, it makes sense to stop selling them.
Well, I think it might be due to a lot of californian police agencies are cracking down on not just tuner shows but places that sell performance parts for them... Kinda shitty of them to let muscle cars that CLEARLY don't pass CARB standards by but then crack down on the asian invasion (so to speak)...
