Greddy Exhaust
did anyone purchase the greddy exhaust??
what are the hp gains?? |
I have one. Like the sound/looks on it. No HP increase that I could feel. Havent done a proper dyno (detaching wheel sensors to prevent limp mode), but comparing stock vs Greddy dyno's saw a 3HP loss.
Again, this was in limp mode, so dont assume the exhaust lost power until I do a proper dyno :D This is also well within possible variations on the dyno. I should get my stage 1 this week and I plan on doing proper dyno testing of the car with stage 1 turned off/on next week so I'll have better numbers for ya. |
Any discoloration on the tips? Any other part of the exhaust?
I do like the sound of the Greddy (sound clips, haven't heard it in person). |
GReddy exhaust is fairly quiet, I would know... I was one of the first in the states to get one... anyways, the tip changes color due to heat - a goldish tinge, which is common for stainless steel exhausts. from dynos, I saw about a 12whp increase, but I could barely feel it.

I think it looks the best and sounds the best.....a good match for the Stage 1.
how come genom says he lost power? then efini says he gained power??? someone explain pleez..
I clearly stated I did not pull the sensors to prevent limp mode.
Those guys that own the Greddy, do you know if it is "50-state" sound compliant?
.......310Guy its very pretty quiet, I've heard Genoms. It is a very very nice exhaust
Thanks. I actually called Greddy today. I was told the SP2 exhaust is compliant with the 95 dB highway requirement.
So what's the difference between the SP2 and the EVO?
Don't know but SP2 = Street Perfomance Ver. 2.
The evo has a different canister design.
It puts the outlet/tip at the lower end of the canister so the exhaust hides up under the car and all you see is the tip. Not sure that this would apply to the RX-8 since the canister is hidden by the rear bumper already. |
