Greddy CatBack with Green Filter

I've been doing some research on upgrading my intake and exhaust, and I have come to the conclusion the I want to get the Greddy (Looks Great) and the Green filter for the intake option. I have a couple of questions that I would appreciate your help on. First of all I don't know much about mechanics and performance...

I have read a lot about losing power by changing the stock intake and exhaust, is this true? Will I feel the diference with changing either one? or both? If so why do you loose power?

The only reason I'm going with the Greddy is for the look and price range.

For the intake I don't like how the intakes look, I like the way the engine looks now all nice and neat...

Also how much HP will I gain by doing this if you infact you do gain HP. :(

the Greddy exhaust will only make a few HP if any. It's mostly going to be for looks and sound.

The Green Filter is a replacement drop in filter, not a complete intake. It probably won't make power.

Will you notice any gains or "feel" the difference? Probably not. If you do, it's a "placebo" effect.

sure he will...the exhaust adds 50 hp and the air filter alone will add 47...he he

so what do mean when they say that by adding the catback I will loose low end power and gain high end?

RotorMotor04 05-01-2004 08:11 AM

you may loose a little low end power, but you will be able to feel the diffference up top

the exhaust flow tube is a bit big, would it be too big for a 1.3?
i measured mine at 2 1/2" for my B&B and 4in tips (i believe). looks nice and sounds nice! i feel all my gains were mid-high rpm's! my low end still feels like stock (rather slow). god i want a 6 speed LOL!! i told my wife im gonna lease another RX8 after we are done with this lease on this one.

otrovago, search the vendors section under canzoomer, then look for the stage threads. There is plenty of info on this, in particular stage 1.5 and stage 2. Yes you will reap a H.P. advantage with the Exhaust and a stage 1.5 or 2 when it becomes available! I'm not sure about the Green, although I have it so I won't have to replace it with another filter again.

"WOW" that is not my name above!

As far as exhaust, I'm more inclined with going for the Racing Beat Catback exhaust...Y? Well, considering that racing beat has been working with rotary engines for a long time, they are very reputable. Also, the price is roughly the same... sure it won't be as loud as a Greddy/Borla exhaust, but I trust their design crew over anyone's...

That might work better for me, I don't want it louder it will be perfect if it is close to stock for me...

JimW 05-05-2004 05:07 PM

The Borla is a good choice as well!

anotherbum, the racing beat is the exhaust for you bro. It is the closest you will get to stock on an aftermarket exhaust. Tommy and I have one and we love it. Since you're in Miami let me know if you want to meet so you can check it out.

and if you want to hear the HKS too ;)
