Aftermarket motor mounts

I'm in the market for new motor mounts. Looking for something that I can replace the bushings in. I've seems several options. Anyone prefer one over another and why? I'm leaning towards rx8performance or BHR.

BHR sells one and they have a history of good products and good service.

you can fill them yourself to with solid polyurethane, there is a DIY on the fourms, super cheap, easy, and preforms well.

I have the lowest stiffness BHR ones and they're plenty stiff for me. Keeps from dancing around under cornering, and still acceptable NVH levels for daily drive.

I suppose it just depends if you want to pay 50% more or not, more people are on the RX8P mounts and seem satisfied including me. I paid $15 more for the lightweight aluminum body version, no problems.

Did you search?

Sales figures? Well at 50% higher cost you could sell 2/3 as many and still show the same dollar amount.

The postings on this we site don't seem to support any where near that amount though. Probably because they're just engine mounts that work, so why pay 50% more?

I've installed 2 sets of these in rx8s and they're great quality and feel awesome too. I'll be going with these mounts soon in my own 8.

I have the RX8Performance mounts. I like them a lot. Harsh at first but one they settle in they feel almost OEM like but without the slop.

I'm with Charles, BHR engineers a high level of quality into whatever they make. From the ignition system to the midpipe to the motor mounts they are the peak in design. You can get multiple stiffnesses for just a few dollars more. They can be swapped out quickly for a track day.

The most important thing that they do is stand behind their product. Before I bought anything from BHR I emailed Charles as a random. He was more interested in me getting my car running again with the right parts and actually told me not to buy anything until I pinpointed my problem. As a random, he had no obligation to answer my questions. Customer service is one of the marks of a quality company.
