exhausts

hey guys, just looking for your honest opinions.
i recently purchased the greddy for my 8 about a month and a half ago, and yet, to my dismay, i havent recieved my exhaust.
:( . this is because ofcourse, it is on backorder. at first, when i purchased it, the eta was a backorder of about 2 weeks, then 4, and now im supposed to sit here on my thumb, exhaustless mind you!, till mid july. i dont know what the hell to believe man. one MAJOR reason i bought the sp2 was because it seemed like the idea of getting my hands on a racingbeat exhaust was very, well, farfetched; because they are backing those up as well. I DID, however, get a good deal on my greddy(roughly $530) and thats why it sems almost worth the wait. i need an exhaust so bad and i dont want the borla, or b&b, or hks(i wouldnt pay $1000 for an exhaust with minimal hp gains). the greddy and racingbeat sound the best, in my opinion, but its a bitch to get my hands on either one of them. i know theres probably gunna be some guy thats gunna give me a hard time, but, for the most part, i respect all of your opinions and i know you guys are all wise, after all, MOST of you have 8's! so enlighten me if you will.

where'd you buy from?

and FWIW none of those exhausts make anything more than "minimal" power gains

i know that all of them make little, to NO power gains, and thats EXACTLY my pont, ALL of them. so it makes sense to just go with whatever sounds best. dont get me wrong, i have an extremely great deal of respect for hks and their products, but im not gunna pay $1000 for the name, you know? i bought my exhaust from hopup racing out of san diego. im also thinking, throw down another 60 or 70 bucks and get my exhaust through another company, but i am EXTREMELY pressed for cash right now, so every little bit helps

doesnt anyone own a welder? my exhaust sound mean as hell and it is compleatly home made!!!!! im young so i really dont mined the sound. and it shoots a flame.........hahahahahahahaha

mspeed11 06-30-2004 01:58 AM

500 and 600 and even 700 dollars!?!? for what 2 hp. thats a joke straight pipes are the way to go. and it sounds like a f1 car:)

wtf... the stock setup would shoot out flame its not about the exhaust. Not a lot of people want straight piping or cat replacement it doesn't sound mean it sounds obnoxious in most cases.
elguer one word mazdaspeed ;)

i hate to see how that looks

call me crazy, but making a "homemade" exhaust for a 30,000 car just seems a little unerasonable, if that's your thing that's cool but I'd rather spend the $ and get something that's been designed and researched for my ride, rather than hacking away on my 30,000 car...just my 2 cents
