exhausts
anyone know which exhaust gives the car my power at lower rpm's most of the exhaust only give it power in the high sometimes middle.

i dont think many do this is a rotary so most power is coming from the high revs

I know the renisis isn't a 2 stroke engine, but this thread had me thinking about the CVEC tuned pipe for 2 strokes. Because the back pressure is important in a 2 stroke, the pipe was fitted with a spring loaded wall that expanded as the rpms climbed. The result was a larger pipe during high rpms and smaller at lower, giving the engine both high and low end.
|
The problem with this is that backpressure is important in a well designed 2 stroke exhaust but is absolutely the worst thing for a 4 stroke exhaust.
|
Are you sure? I only ask because Odula's exhaust system is long with lots of bends and supposedly is tuned to make more mid -range power. Leg Motorsports' Sequential Muffler inadvertantly makes more torque at the point shortly before the actuator opens...
|
Those systems are tuning based on acoustic principles and not backpressure. A sequential system also isn't outflowing it's needs at that lower rpm before the valves open. It isn't backpressure that we want. It is not exceeding our flow requirements while still maintaining high velocity that is important.

Oh, ok... I see now. Thanks RG.
O.T. I like the new addition to you sig. This one we both agree on... |
Yeah I thought that one was pretty funny yet true. I rotate them out every once in a while.
