welcome to the club mpetru01 !

Let me start off by saying that the Search function located towards the top right of your screen is your new best friend. There's a wealth of knowledge in here, and that's the fastest way to get an answer.

With that said, exhausts really come down to your personal prefernce. Just pick the one you like the sound of the best and you'll be good to go.
I'd recommend searching for the famous Exhausts, exhausts, exhausts thread and then doing a youtube search for some RX-8 exhauts. (quite a few of our members have been gracious enough to uplaod videos)

Hope this helps,

This is why I always tell people that picking an exhaust for the 8 usually comes down to personal taste. :)

I like the MagnaFlow Exhaust for the 8.

biggin55 03-12-2008 07:30 PM

if you like the Agency Power, look at the Exoticspeed exhaust....its nice!

sosonic 03-12-2008 07:30 PM

If your not going titanium, than I think the best is the Greddy exhaust, In terms of weight, price, db sound, and pipe size.

That is all you pay for on an RX8 Exhaust pretty much. I don't know if I am comfortable putting MagnaFlow products on my car.

My two Favorite are

HKS and
Exotic SPeed

I like HKS Legamax Exhaust, Car behide me see spark when I REV, They seem to keep a long distance away from me. LOL!

TopGear8 03-12-2008 09:03 PM

Borla!! It's what i'm planning on getting.

Razz1 03-12-2008 10:42 PM

I've liked the sound of the Borla but the quality of Racing Beat.

If you live in snow country you want the RB.

I got the RB.

Alot of exhaust out there are real thin sheet metal not good SS like the RB.

lilring 03-12-2008 11:00 PM

i have the Borla and i think its the best. you can vist my myspace andi have a video on there of it. its the one on the right side of the page. the link is myspace.com/lilring10

I have the Tanabe Ultra Medalion titanium cat-back; Ti construction from the muffler canisters, all the way to the tips (19 lbs.), itr averaged at 100 dbs. with the RP supercat. comes with silencers in case you wanna tone it down a bit... I paid $950 shipped and completely satisfied!

sound clips are somewhere in the middle of the 1st page of this thread

Trekk 03-13-2008 08:35 AM

So much talking, blah blah blah....
The only way you can really know witch sounds best would be to have cars lined up in front of you, all with different exhaust for you to hear at the same time, that have all been broken in.

If you want HP skip the exhaust and get the Rp supercat. If you just want sound, w/o messing with the stock cat, then get an exhaust.
I have the MS dual can exhaust, it was 550$ shipped to my door. It's noticeable but not anything close to a fart can. The only thing I dont like about it... is that the tips turned to crap in a few days, and I haven't been able to get them back to the same luster.

This is an old ass video, but its what my car sounded like with the windows up.

it's all user pref.

however be sure to look carefully at materials used for construction as well as piping ID.

The greddy SP2 exhaust mentioned above is 60 mm pipe (2.3").

The HKS Legamax is 65mm (2.5")

Some exhausts claim to be 75mm (3.0") but have connecting flanges that are 2.5" wide. So dig deeper than promotional material.

09Factor 03-13-2008 09:23 AM

to add to mysql's post, the HKS Hi-power is 3" all the way out to the tip. But none of this matters if the OEM cat is still in place. It's piping is 60 mm pipe (2.3").

The Corksport is a very nice exhaust and is around 24lbs. The welds are great quality and Is T304 stainless steel.

eddybear 03-19-2008 09:06 AM

I want the one with the deepest sounding bass, I'm in love with the Subaru WRX/STI Rumble, anything that sounds close to that is perfect for me. lol.

I'm yet to hear one that rumbles like that.
