Different Filter For K&N?

I got the K&N Typhoon a year ago when it seemed like an OK idea. The newer filter design seems better suited for capturing air from the airbox duct. I thought about just replacing the filter with a different one such as this one: http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=rr-3002

Trick is the inside flange on that filter is 3" and the intake piping on the Typhoon is 3 1/2". Not sure if I could find an adapter flange that can go from 3" - 3.5".

Additional Filter Option

I also found this filter: http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...Prod=RX-4130-1

Filters with the X-Stream also have a filter in the end cap so unlike they standard Typhoon intake they shouldn't just push the air to the side. In theory anyways. This filter has a 3 15/16" flange, which is bigger than the intake piping.
