Denso Spark Plugs
According to sparkplugs.com, there are some denso plugs available.
Anyone have these on their car? Thanx |
they are cold plugs intended for continuous WOT racing use, they start at one range colder than OE and offer them in the next colder range too,
|
how does a colder heat range affect daily use? thanx

Generally not very well if it isn't necessary. For one thing you would increase your chances of flooding.

I run these in one step colder on my turbo setup. FI increases chamber temps so cold plugs reduce the chances of detonation. I get misfires when cold some times. I would NOT put them on my NA car.
|
I have them on my car. I would not recommend them as the driving is a bit rougher. I had a set of the NGK sparkplugs for the leading plugs that were one heat range colder and they were better. Smoother idle.

I have them on my car for months.
Not sure how effective they are because I changed them with Autoexe spark plug wires concurently. I noticed the rev response was faster in first few dasy after change. According to the info come from denso website, these plugs have silicon coating for preventing flood. |
Hi
I had a big embarresment today, my RX8 has about 29000 miles (46000km) on the clock. while in heavy traffic it started to miss and loose a lot of power which felt to me as failed plugs. here in SA the services only say (at the dealers) to replace plugs at 60000km or 38000miles. Did anyone come to this mileage yet or did anyone get this behaviour before. I hope it is plugs.(as soon as throttle is a bit more opened and a bit under load, then it feals like a brake and as if you switch off) |
