Corksport Exhaust with new cans *large pics and vid*

I posted these pics in another thread but I'm posting them in their own thread for anyone that would be curious. The old style cans were round.

I'm sure many here would be interested in your exhaust so be sure to post some pics.

It looks good just doesn't sound that great IMO

alnielsen 02-23-2008 09:28 PM

I love a nice pair of cans.

Spin9k 02-23-2008 09:38 PM

Screw the exhaust (just kidding), what did you get on the dyno?:)

HiTMaNN 02-23-2008 09:43 PM

Off topic question how are you getting a jack under your car with it being lowered? That is causing me a lot of problems :| I am looking to buy one that will work for lowered cars. If anyone knows of some good jackstands link me please :)

Spin9k 02-23-2008 10:19 PM

Google "Trak-Jax"

you need a low profile jack. for the front you can get a pair of 2x6 and drive up on them which should provide enough clearance to get a jack under the car.

The video quality is crap and it does sound much better in person. I had several compliments on the exhaust. One person by me was telling his friend that my car was the best sounding rotary he has heard. Not that means much.

Very crappy. Best run was 161whp. I am not sure if it was the dyno or my car. They had issues getting readings so it definitely could have been off.

The car drives great and it does not feel like it is low on power either. Coils and plugs were swapped out sometime last year.

alnielsen 02-23-2008 11:24 PM

I have the original Corksport exhaust. How does the sound compare? Have you heard the original?

XDEEDUBBX 02-24-2008 12:38 AM

nice exhaust..but the "Mazda Exhaust System" etching kinda kills it..haha

pdxhak 02-24-2008 12:49 AM

hahaha you would have to be about 1' away to read "Mazda Exhaust System". I did not even notice it until I took the picture

I do not like it either but you can not see it unless you are literally right next to the tail pipe.

get the small racing jack from Harbor Freight, we just picked up another one plus a set of aluminum jack stands. The steel jackstands are quite a bit less, but the aluminum ones are super light, perfect for carrying them to the track and still rated at 3000 lbs each

larger version http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=47246

aluminum jack stands (couldn't find a link, they look like steel ratcheting jack stands, but aluminum material)

pdxhak 02-25-2008 09:10 PM

The second jack looks a lot like the jack I purchased at Costco. The first link looks like what is for sale now at Costco.

Thanks a lot bro I will look into it, 70 bucks doesn't sound all that bad.

TeamRX8 02-27-2008 09:22 PM

The jack I've seen at Costco is much bigger and heavier than the Harbor Freight jack, but some Costco locations carry different products

alienRX8 04-29-2008 10:10 PM

reviving but

Is this a full exhaust or just a cat back?
