Corksport Customer Service Or Lack There Of

I ususally wouldn't even take the time to make a post like this, but I couldn't help my urge to share this with other potential buyers of RX8 accessories. I've twice spoken with "customer service" reps from Corksport, and both times I've found them to be a bit "rude."

I posted the details in another thread regarding Corksport's new exhaust for the 8, but I'll discuss them again here. I first called to order the front clear corner lights for the 8, and I found the sales rep seemed "bothered" by my call and my need to place an order with them. His tone was just plain "unfriendly." I did receive the lights and all is well with them, so I figured I'd give them another shot.

The second time I called was with questions regarding the R Magic body kit. I inquired as to whether their might be any better pictures of the rear section, as the ones I've seen are terrible. You can barely make out what it looks like on their web sight (and on web sights of others). I don't know if I was talking to the same rep, but again he seemed bothered by my call and seemed rushed to end it. He simply answered "no." He didn't bother to elaborate or go into any detail (at all) regarding his knowldge of the R Magic kit, and again, his tone was "unfriendly."

When your only "contact" with your customers is over the phone, then you should feel it necessary to hire someone with half-way decent phone skills. The bottom line is that this guy (or these guys) rubbed me the wrong way, and I'll never call them again. My questions were direct and to the point, and shouldn't have seemed bothersome to someone in their position. They have now lost out on a $2000 sale, which may mean nothing to them, but it should.

I'm sorry, but I just felt it necessary to make this post after to "unpleasant" experiences with them and I just thought this info would be of help to anyone doing online or over-the-phone shopping.

We should have a thread like this... "Places we would never buy from again because they suck".... I nominate Island Motorsports in Cypress... that place has BS prices, gives you the run around, don' t know how to install anything, personally screwed up my speakers and dash because they gluegunned them into the panel... and tried to give me fake generic rims and saying they were OEM 5Zigens... uhhh... Avoid at all cost.

I've dealt with CS a couple times now. Everytime, I've had realy good business deals with them. No complaints here. CJ

well hey if there are not that many pics out there. you cant expect them to have every part just sitin around to take pics of.
would have wanted him to lie to you about knowing what it looked like? rather then telling you no he does not know of any better pics of that kit?

Sorry to read about your problems. I've purchased from Corksport and didn't have any problems.

My brother ordered a Mazdaspeed shift knob for his protege from corksport, but they didn't ship it or charge him. It appears they just ignored him. He just wants to know what happened to the order, but they refuse to reply to his email. Very poor customer service. Neither of us will ever deal with them in the future.

CorkSport is a little loopy.
They appear to be almost a "hobby" kind of place that is just run on the side.
I've been buying stuff from them for years and have only had a few problems, most of which have been the result (it would seem) of a short attention span rather than malice.

Every time I call there I either get Derrick or Ben on the phone directly. I assume they are the whole company.
They are both enthusiasts, so I expect and usually receive a fair amount of enthusiasm from them.

Sorry you had a problem with them. I'd give them a second chance.
They are one of the only Mazda-only places that has been consistent in supporting the fringe models and that takes some guts.

I didn't expect him to pull new pics out of his ass. I just expected him to care a little about my inquiry, and he didn't seem to at all.
