Cold Air Intake

Hey everybody, we are interested in developing a custom cold air intake for the RX-8, we already have a MAF adapter made so the only problem will be fitment, and interest.

This post will be to gauge interest in a cold air intake.

Depends on cost and performance return. See the intake development thread...

I posted very interested but it is going to be a building process. I am starting with an ECU upgrade. Then exhaust, cat back, cat, and headers. From there I will get the CAI and MAF adapter. After that I am hoping that MazdaSpeed will have the turbo on the market. I would consider an aftermarket turbo but I don't want to void my warranty on the engine.

Of course my choice in bolt on parts is going to be proven reliability and power. I will be taking cost into consideration as well.

Well in order to get actual performance in these car's it is quite tricky. By removing the front wheel sensors and wiring them in with the rear while dynoing. Hence the reason people are dynoing low like 175ish, which causes the ECU to pull timing. Which im sure you all are aware of by now.

But yeah, in order to determine the horsepower let's get a stock guy down in san diego to test it out ;)
