Clarify Turbo rummor

O.k. first i am sory that this is probably major bull, but the Rx-8 has hit really big around me now and i have heard this rummor:

- In cali, there are turbo/TT's on rx-8s. Now suposivley these cars have been totally redone internally but not to a far extent ( so the rotary and some parts are still stock).

I have done a search and i have found nothing on a turbo that is even out? Remember this is coming from poeple at my school and they are not all that bright. (though we are the top ACT scoring school in the nation sumhow).

please don't blast me for this, it's just been buggen me and i would like to know if it's true.

Also are there any turbo's out that u guys know of? i really cant find anything on them other than SSR's, which to what i know is not out yet/being tested.

Thanks guys

Oh yea, anyone check out that other Rx-8 forum, why we need 2?

The only turbocharged RX-8's out there are going to be custom jobs and even then they are most likely prototype pieces. There isn't a kit available yet (at least not on this side of the planet) and whether or not Mazda will release a turbo version is still the subject of heavy speculation. The only twin turbo rotaries out there are going to be RX-7's.

Greddy is also working on a turbo kit.

There are also a few companies working on supercharger kits.

We don't need 2 forums! This one works just fine. It's bigger anyways. :)

Looking at the supspension changes in the MazdaSpeed RX-8 it looks like Mazda left a lot of room for extra HP. Don't have any idea if it will be turbo or super, but I bet extra HP is in the RX-8's future. Personally, I'd like a 3rd rotor.

SSR Engineering has a kit available for like $7000 (do a search in this forum for more info) and there are several other companies that will be coming out with kits probably within the next few months. Trust/Greddy is one of them.

I like the idea of a third rotor myself. Slap a turbo on that yet and I'd be a happy camper... well, a happy driver anyway! :D
