be sure to get the spec lightweight pressure plate and post pics of the engine reving. I was going to get the Spec stage 3 clutch but the clutch masters stage 3 was about $200 or so cheaper and the guy at Ultrarev said spec's customer service was as easy to deal with when it comes to warranty issues. good luck. I love the kevlar clutch!!

generally bizzare driving i kinda slowed a bit, did a couple of donuts but tires goes to dam fast and to much doe to keep replaceing every 3months . a couple of draggy starts or maybe its just me i had a 04 mazda 6s and blew out the transmission and coulple of gears in it when it said it was ment to do 125mph and no more the instuction book was right. think im going to find me a beat up civic and push that around because i really want to do a custom turbo to my car. and being without a car for a month in AZ heat is not fum at all. Just cant wait till my parts come in.

Wow, you ripped that thing apart. I thought the clutches on these cars are super strong. Looks like the clutch from my srt-4

WTF were you doing in the car? Only 35,000 and your clutch looks like that!!!!

You were abusing the hell out of it.

Good job. You clearly had more then your fair share of fun to accomplish that.

Is the color saturation off on that camera? With that much wear in 35,000 miles I'd expect that thing to be bright blue in the center. Isn't that how Mazda determines abuse?

I think the chunks missing is a better determination of abuse .....the stock discs are blue from the factory...

THE OE clutch disc seems to have some QC issues, they have fallen apart on a few RX-8s. It's not just an abuse thing ...

that's crazy.

So how do you like the Spec clutch? I've heard a few people don't like Spec stuff. And why get the Stage 3?
