Borla exhaust tip corrosion

This is my 2nd winter with my Borla catback - I'm noticing what appears to be either rust or some sort of corrosion around the lip of the exhaust tips. With all the salt on the roads and temps of 6 degrees, there's not much I can do to clean them - on warmer days I've used my exhaust tip cleaner, but still have some of this on there - I can't tell if it's just surface and can be completely removed or not. Anyone else in cold climates with road salt had any issues with exhaust tips? Just wonderin' what they're gonna look like in the spring and if there's anything else I can do right now.

I have the same problem with my Mazdaspeed exhaust. Not sure how to get rid of it. I've cleaned them with neverdull every few months, but there is still that rust on the top of the tips.

Not sure about the road salt BUT I would highly recommend trying English Custom Polish.

The rest of the tip shines up fine with the neverdull. It is just that little bit of rust on the end. My dealer tried to get Mazdaspeed to cover it under warranty, but since I brought it in 13 months after I bought it (the mazdaspeed warranty stops at 12 months), they wouldn't cover it.

So if you have a problem with a mazdaspeed part, make sure you know the exact time your warranty expires, because it seems like they won't fudge it at all. I can't really complain as they lived up to the contract, but I don't think I will buy any more mazdaspeed parts because of that.

But other than that I have nothing but positive things to say about the exhaust. It sounds great, has performed fine, and other than the rust has been trouble-free.

The polish I use has also worked well for shining and cleaning, but I'm guessing these spots won't come off. That sucks.
