What is the ID of the flanges?

Stock flange gasket size. Direct hook up.

What do you want Dave?

09Factor 04-18-2009 02:32 AM

an actual end to end 3 " midpipe. This is including 3" ID flanges.
So I'll keep looking

WAR CRUNK 04-18-2009 03:15 AM

eeeeh hello

dsire4u 04-18-2009 04:09 AM

The main issue with true 3 inch flanges is the fact that no cat back systems would bolt up to the pipe unless they were designed the same way.

We'll have pressure data with the pipe so we'll know whether or not there's any restrictions.

onefatsurfer 04-18-2009 06:20 AM

You guys should make an end to end 3" exhaust. That would be sweet...

Zelse 04-18-2009 07:24 AM

Flashwing, Ray, any sort of timeframe you guys have in mind now? I know it was up in the air before, but just curious where you're at now. My cat is slowly starting to get clogged I think, and really don't want to have to buy another cat and then get this or something. :/

I don't care about the most exhausts. I'm thinking of those with FI'd applications that want a True 3" midpipe exhaust combo.
Make it option to 3" flanges for the midpipe.
maybe later on do what onefatsurfer suggested. But please don't make the mistake of what Turbosx did and use funky flanges that only work with the Turbosx exhaust.

That would give the 8 community an option that isn't readily availble to average owner/modder.

Eddy-current testing shows all sorts of turbulence and does show a slight pressure drop. I only had the simulation rigged for 32/34 (i don't remember now)lbs a min.
now if I can get it re-done for 3071r 44lbs and the BNR Greddy replacement of 46 lbs.
maybe I would see more of a pressure drop.

(done stirring the pot and speculation):) <This is for Ray

Transam kid 01 04-18-2009 11:40 AM

Sigh....I was trying to save money for my next car....but I really like how this is coming along....
Damnit BHR, why do you have to do things so well?

O well, Charles, just send me an invoice when it's ready lol

lepichichi 04-18-2009 12:11 PM

Can you summarize the first post with all the new data once you have it?

I'm hacking up my old RP supercat midpipe to quiet it down a bit while you guys play around.

Easy_E1 04-19-2009 10:33 PM

I was riding in Flashwings car last night. And his car is at least 40% quieter than it was before. I barely hear him pull up to the house any more. Where as before I could hear him coming 5 blocks away.
Don't worry this is coming soon. Just a few more minor details to sort out.

Shnifty 04-19-2009 10:42 PM

Put me on the waiting list! :)

Ross_Dawg 04-20-2009 01:28 AM

do you think this will be available by early June?

I would think more like ,,,

I can't tell you for sure because if I don't make that time frame then I look like a liar.
Patience is all I can say. I would like to see it available by July at the latest. But that's just me.

Zelse 04-23-2009 09:55 AM

I don't think this was asked yet, and if it was, sorry it slipped my mind. What kind of gaskets will we need for this? Something you'll provide with it, or we'll have to get aftermarket, or use OEM?

Nemesis8 04-23-2009 10:12 AM

Besides getting the sound perfect, the most important part is using the OE flanges and gaskets.

Good luck this weekend!

Razz1 04-23-2009 10:59 AM

Make sure its not buzzy in the cabin under hard acceleration and..........

if you can get rid of the drone..... that would be fantastic.

Nothing worse than drone or chain saw.

blackenedwings 04-23-2009 11:20 AM

I'm on this waiting list right Ray?

Zelse 04-23-2009 01:01 PM

Good stuff Ray, and glad to hear on all of this. Still anxious to hear this puppy coupled with a HKS Hi Power, but I mean if it works this much wonders on loud exhausts..I'm sure mine will come out just as good hopefully. Anyways, if I could pat you on the back, I would. Good work man.

Hopefully by Monday we'll have all the sound clips needed.

Mazdaspeed, Borla, HKS hipower, Stock, what ever Flashwing has, i don't recall at the moment. :uhh: And a couple of others hopefully.

Jedi54 04-23-2009 01:29 PM

You don't pay attention to me when I talk. When I say something it just goes in one ear and out the other.

Lol, I guess if I was interested in being good at drag racing I would have bought a mustang.

Had to bash you somewhere :lol2:

But whatever, you have 192whp, you could still woop me...

PeriQ 04-26-2009 01:58 PM

Is there any estimate when this will be out?

It is going to be either this or the RB, whichever comes out first...

At least, just to be sure it won't enter my 6 month period for the AP, is there any possibility that it will come out in the next 2 months?

Thank you.

Cheers.

Yes. If not sooner.

PeriQ 04-26-2009 02:38 PM

Good. If there is any pre-sale list please count me in... I would like to get it as soon as possible.

If I understood, even if it ends up being only 1 silencer you are aiming at a sound drowning comparable with the dual resonator that Mazsport sold?

Thank you again.

Cheers.

Just put you on the list. :eyetwitch

Currently we are doing sound testing (right now). We will have some decible numbers and videos for everybody in the next few days.
