bee*r installation
hi, i know its my first post here but i need an advice. i have made my search on alot of forum and website and i was wondering if its possible to install a bee*r rev limiter on a rx8 and if so how to do it. i just cant find the tach or rpm signal and as i saw on all my electric diagram theres no real rpm signal ..
if someone can help me it would be really great thanks |
idk what your trying to do here. can you explain a little more
|
Tach reading would be taken from the ODB II/CAN bus.
|
To effectively increase or lower your rpm limiter you have to tune the ecu.
|
I was hoping it had something to do with beer. Color me disappointed.
|
^.................me too! Ugh!

the bee*r is a rev limiter and i just want to know if someone already installed one in a rx8. the bee r is a ignition cut, not a fuel cut like our stock rev limiter. it needs a tach signal aand a ignition signal. so if someone can hook me hup it would be great thank you :)

i usually just drive it to the beer store and buy a case then put it in my 8. if i need to get a fresh keg i have to take my truck tho
I've done this in my Volvo, the 8 and a few other cars with a covered cargo area. Works great camping, fishing, and even skiing if you can park close enough to a trail. Being in the rear passenger compartment doesn't make it any less illegal, but it does prevent me from reaching it while driving, which would be a bad thing. |

Thread-jack: I install a Heineken 5-liter mini-keg via bungee cords and zip ties as close to the back of the rear seat as possible, run the hose and nozzle through the rear seat pass-thru, under the rear console and into the rear cup holder area.

why do you want this? Why do you think you need this? |
everybody wants moar bee*r :smiley309
|
I want a bee*r cause i want a safer cut off while i drift thats it .. if theres an other way to have a ignition cut instead of a fuel cut tell me. Bee*r can be use as a lunch controler to.
|
A lunch controller is called diet.
Drifting isn't about lap times, you don't need a launch controller. You actually never need a launch controller in a car whose torque can be measured in newton-hamsters instead of nm. As for the cutoff\limiter... you don't really want an ignition cut either. Especially if you're bouncing on and off the limiter. You don't want to ever cut either fuel or spark in that instance. Just learn how to drift properly and avoid over revving. |
Going back to the thread jack... Could we jury rig a rev limiter to a breathalyzer? 1 beer rev limited to 8k rpms... Six pack puts it in valet mode?
Just a thought.... |
Is there someone here who know an awnser to my question ? I know how to drift and i dont care about the lunch controler .. i just want the rev limiter .. is there someone who already put this in a 8 or not ? Thank you

Just a thought.... 1 beer -1000rpm limit 2 beers - 2000rpm limit etc etc By 9 beers you are qualified for 9000 |
will the op learn to spell LAUNCH properly?
The funny thing is that we all have the wiring diagram at hand... |
beer limiter and lunch control
shouldn't it be: beer control and lunch limiter ??? I'd love to see pictures of the remote keg hookup. |
... ty for helping me so much
|
You're welcome
Anyways, as a few have stated this isn't something you want to be doing to a rotary engine. Ignition cut is going to cause massive dumping of fuel into engine and cause violent backfire when ignition kicks back in. |
ignition cut is much safer than fuel cut .. and thats what i want.. i just want to know if i can do it and if someone can help me ill appreciate thank you
|
It sounds like you have all of the answers already so why do you need our help then?
|
Fred, just tell you want to do stupid backfires instead of saying bull shit about rev limiter and launch control
|
OP probably saw all the bee*r videos on youtube, and he wants to make neat backfires like the cool kids.
|
I am confused why he thinks ignition cut is safer. I usually like my beer with dinner, not lunch; that takes a lot of control.
|
I too have a Bee*R limiter, that I had installed on an FC and my old MR2. It's a simple piece of kit that allows you to adjust (lower) your rev limit using a fuel cut rev limit. It's kind of a novelty but they are very popular in the drift circles. You can also set an RPM limit for a launch control that runs off of the 12v on your ebrake that lights up the dummy brake light on your dash.
Where it gets frustrating for me, as a forum member is when I see a thread like this, thinking I could actually get an answer as well. Instead all I see is the usual same people saying "Get a COBB/This shouldn't be done on a rotary engine/What do you need it for??" Good advice, but it doesn't have shit-from-shinola to do with what he asked. This isn't a thread about what he need it for. This isn't a thread about how he wants a COBB. This isn't a thread about every other swingin' dick's opinion about shit. It's really frustrating when I see the regulars jump every new guy's shit for "not searching" But when threads are cluttered with useless, stupid and oftentimes WRONG information whats the point of searching? /rant. |

Bee-R Rev limiter fitting guide https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-tec...-pinout-72016/ http://www.wrxtuners.com/forums/f92/...harness-33470/ http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=1450170 Red-Power Black- Ground White-Ebrake Green- Ignition make 4 wires tap in to each coil 2Z, 2AA, 2AC, 2AD using a diode? IDK RPM Signal- I know two wires on the coil pack to make a rpm signal? but wouldn't that conflict? Cause ignition and rpm signal uses two of the same wires? |
Did anyone figure this out, I literally just wanna shoot flames and be that guy:)
