ARC intake
cel light on and stalling at low rpm...:banghead:
|
ok we need some more info? What year? MT? AT? mileage? Sounds like it may b a vacuum leak! are you sure all ur hose are hooked up to the intake and around the intake manifold and throttle plate?
|
08 rx8
mt 10000k not sure why the light comes on.....everything seems to be right, my buddy told me its because the intake is japanese and it is different us models |
get the code read somewhere....that's the easiest way to figure out what the problem is
|
i assume you just installed it?
it is probably the MAF adjusting for the new air flow.. from a crappy aftermarket intake no less. give it a few drive cycles. |
yeah the MAF may be trying to "learn" the system if u just installed it being Japanese or American will make no differnece the PCM does not know it just now how much air it coming in and fuel being injected etc etc

the arc intake does not incorporate any maf screens and the position of the maf is improper....its a bad intake for the rx8 and thats why you dont see them on anybody else rx8....seriously take it off and deal with your losses theres nothing you can do....
|
Vac leak more than likely.
Go over the intake and make sure everything is plugged in, then clean the MAF sensor. Then for shits and giggles you might want to push down on the ignition wires to make sure they are in place. After that is the problems still continue, I would take it to the dealer. |

i wouldn't be surprised if you LOST power with this |
make sure your vfad nipple is capped off as well, if you removed the vfad all together. That would cause it to run like crap too.
|
Damn and to think Works Concepts is selling this intake right now dirt cheap.
If it caused this kind of issue I wouldn't be selling something like that. |
It's been known fluid, don't worry we got your back. LOL
|
I want to see pics of this mounted up. ARC quality is supposed to be amazing.

ARC is one of the top leading manufacture of Cooling system in Japan. They do road tests on tracks around Japan before they sell their cooling products.
Just not quite sure about their Intake side of things. |
ARC has many well-known good products for Evo, Impreza-Saab, and Honda.
But I doubt that the company know anything about rotary. |
Take the screens from your stock and put them in the ARC and see if that helps.
