Amuse Exhaust Installed

Just finished installing my amuse exhaust, installation was really easy, took me about an hour to get the stock exhaust off and and about 20 minutes to get the new exhaust on.
Weighed both, the stock exhaust was about 39 pounds with the mid-pipe going to the cat, the amuse ended up being about 18.5 pounds slightly less than half the stock exhaust. It was unreal how light it was, the mid-pipe going to the cat was like a feather and the muffler could easily be lifted with one hand.
As for a performance increase, I don't really detect anything, but then I didn't expect to feel a big difference if any at all. I like the sound so far although it's fairly loud, not a buzzy sound though. I plan on recording some movies of it soon and posting them so everyone can hear what it sounds like, other than that if anyone has any questions, ask away.

Dying for photos and sound clips! :D

takahashi 03-10-2004 08:39 PM

How much does it cost you, if I may ask?

It supposed to gain about 13ps at the wheels... so it is GREAT STUFF.

If i have it then I will look at rear mirror all the time, don't want people hitting my rear

looks beatiful
I've heard a sound clip before and I know it sounds awesome

adrian-1 03-11-2004 04:38 PM

I'd like bigger pic's please. Looks nice.
Those pipes look big, but not as big as the greddy.
I'll be waiting for the sound bite. Any camera that has a 10sec mpeg cababilty should be fine.

moRotorMotor 03-11-2004 05:51 PM

Alright everyone, dummy question time! :) What material is this exhaust made of? I really like the way the tips look with the bluish flamed look and I always thought that was only found on the titanium exhaust, is this true? Thanks in advance.

Scoobyrx8 03-11-2004 06:28 PM

Yeah it's titanium, you can find it at www.bulletproofautomotive.com

As for bigger pics, here's the originals, they were taken in 6 megapixel mode so the largest one is about 3 meg.

You'll probably have to right click and "save as" to download them. I should get that movie soon.

BigOLundh 08-11-2004 11:43 AM

Does anybody have dyno numbers on the AMUSE exhaust?

Hybrid-RX8 08-11-2004 12:33 PM

That's what youc all a gangster exhaust.

takahashi 08-11-2004 06:52 PM

this is disrespectful... I think it is EXTREMELY nice

I think it is very nice. I don't have the time and money to look after a Ti exhaust though. You better know somebody that weld those exhaust and DO NOT go over humps in great speed, becareful reversing out! They are paper thin and AMUSE's one here have cracked it.

Hymee 08-16-2004 02:27 AM

I heard someone's AMUSE exhaust has cracked twice. Anyone else had that problem?

Cheers,
Hymee.

takahashi 08-16-2004 02:49 AM

The average life of a Ti exhaust is 2 years..

For what I have seen? 5 months...

SHOWOFF 08-21-2004 09:20 AM

I saw you car at Best Buy last week. The Exhaust looks tight.

PistolPete-RX8 08-21-2004 09:39 AM

is the $1,870.00 price on that website for U.S. dollars??? If so then you got robbed...

looks awesome though.

Pete

IZoomZoomI 08-21-2004 10:22 AM

wow... 1870? Is that just a cat back? Nice setup thouhg. That exhaust would equal= cz-unit, drop-in filter/intake, exhaust, midpipe, and hi flow cat.

takahashi 08-21-2004 09:33 PM

Titanium is just like gold man... it is usually double of normal quality stainless steel

I remember reading an article from the designer of the Z06 talking about the titanium exhaust, he said that titanium is about 3X the price of stainless steel, and it has to be welded in an argon gas environment, versus regular welding. Looks nice though.
