Finished product. I am going to relocate the coolant one, the hoses at bottom hit the wheel well, the windshield washer reservoir can go at the very end, or even better, oil catch can, doesn't do much anyways, LOL!!

Same for you Phil, make one out of the same canisters of your trio. You need 2 bigger sized hose barbs for it to work propperly. And you need a pressure release cap (not like mine, a regular one will do, I liked mine cause of the color)

I did look at that but when I figured the capacity of the coolant tank I found that room was a real problem. The two tanks on the left are for oil injection, the tank on the right is for windshield cleaner. The small tank in front of the trio is the oil catch can. Due to the fender well limitation I could not make another tank fit into the space that would have the capacity of the stock tank.

I did noticed today that when I boost for long periods of time my cooling system pressure rises and it loses a bit, not much, had to put about 16 ounces over the weekend, but I did quite some acceleration (no racing :suspect:) and had the A/C on all the time, it's my weekend car... :)

I am thinking maybe if I leave it 1/2 full it will have the space to build up the pressure and not spill any out. Maybe since the reservoir tanks only go 1/2 full for that reason? Any ideas?

Murray Speed & Custom shop. Mazsport used to sell 3 of these cannisters, I have a 4th one for 2-stroke for the SOHN adapter. It is not for sale, sorry. Still using it.

is this the one? is the orange cap seperate?

Thanks. You should be able to fabricate them as well, wasn't that difficult. I saw the pic of one you found, that's not the one, but you can probably do the same mods. These are aluminum but chromed.

nice bumblebeerx8! these looks exactly the same... are they?

do we still need to any mods to change these to cater to the sohn & catch can? (i know the washer fluid needs to change the adapter below)

m4f1050 02-15-2011 05:48 PM

Yep, those are it! Thanks BBRX8.

For oil catch you don't have to modify it, but yes, you need to modify one for the SOHN adapter and one for the windshield washer. For the SOHN adapter you can switch the cap on the bottom and the fitting on the side, but they are slightly different thread, you can probably find the right thread hose fitting for the bottom at an Ace hardware store, where I bought mine from. And for the windshield washer I cut the bottom the same size of the windshield washer pump and used the same rubber seal and it worked nicely... For radiator reservoir it's more modification, shown above.

how do you guys bypass the coolant level light?

9krpmrx8 01-21-2014 05:24 PM

Thanks man, it is a work in progress.

nuke0907 01-21-2014 10:20 PM

I'm trying to clean my bay up a little more during or after my rebuild. I still have the stock coolant tank for now though.

I'm curious if there is a functional reason for fabricating a shield behind the radiator? I thought having it open would help blow that hot air out better, especially with a vented hood.

because you dont want the air that has been heated up by passing through the radiator (and in 9k's case, the intercooler) to heatsoak your intake piping.

9krpmrx8 01-24-2014 09:21 AM

Yeah it definitely controls intake temps, big difference without it. Also, it is debatable but it also helps direct air down and out the bottom of the engine and thru the side vents. I was told that if not it creates a high pressure area under the hood with no place to vent properly.

Been eyeing that one for a while, but between that and the required fittings it just gets spppensive

nuke0907 01-24-2014 04:57 PM

Is it much of a problem for the bottom of some of these tanks to not be above the top of the radiator?

9krpmrx8 01-24-2014 05:11 PM

It hasn't been a problem for us, both Hoss's setup and mine are working well so far.
