You can buy a bathroom fan that will blow more than 250 CFM and cost less than $350.
That looks like one of these helmet blowers with an added $150 scam markup.

Technical Data - How it works: All stock air intakes are designed to intake a certain amount of air. The intake ratio is usually set at only 10% of its full capacity. In other words your stock air intake is designed to only intake 10% of the air that it could intake. This leaves 90% of the air suspended from entering your engine. The reason you get horsepower increase when you get a short ram or cold air intake is because you are no longer restricting the air to come in. The air is being free flowed by your engine itself. If you measure how much capacity is left over after installing a short ram or cold air intake, you will realize that you have about 60%-70% capacity left of potential air to enter your engine. This is where the Air Intake Blower comes to place. It will be help your engine intake more air resulting in making less pressure on the engine itself, horsepower increase and improving gas mileage.

I saw a while ago a dyno vid about how some put a leaf blower to a car intake and gain 10-30 whp on different cars.

Has anyone actually put one of these rigged up electric blowers on their 8?

Well if that tech explaination Baron VB posted comes from their ad someone should go to jail. There has to be a law against that much bull shit in one ad.

Then again, lets think about. I just bought a new brand X car that has 200HP at the wheels. Good enough for most but not me. I buy a short ram (whatever that is) AND a CAI. Therefore I get a full 40% acording to that prior explaination of the potential my engine has. I'm happy with that, belive it or not because it's going to take along time to get used to the 800whp I now have.
I'm just not that good of a driver to handle the whole 100% or 2000whp the car could put out.
Although I might do it just for the gas milage and less stress on the engine.

Then I'm going to drive it up to Detroit and show those engineers how stupid they are. No wait...........first I'll take it to a NASCAR race and win alot of money.
How stupid are those guys? they can only get 800HP from their engines with millions of $ development money and years of working at it. Every single part on their engines is custom special double throw down and expensive.
I'm only running a showroom engine with factory warentee yet. I'm not even going to tell you how much those engine guys in NC get paid. All because the car owners think they are worth it. They're going to be embarassed when I show up.

That Was Funny Ass Vid

TeamRX8 02-21-2006 10:59 AM

the point is that when people do a search on intake or blower they end up with pages full of BS threads like this to climb through, we all know it's BS so why clutter up the aftermarket forum with it?

Take it to the lounge or something ..

2.2 Amp x 12V = 26.4 Watts. And you would need at least 1 kW (=1000 Watts) to start getting some pressure and flow from an electric supercharger.
