AEM wideband opinions

I am thinking about getting the AEM wideband O2 sensor w/ gauge. Anyone have any experiences with it? I've heard some bad things from people who heard it from other people, but my local performance shops seem to think its decent.

I'm not an advocate of it. It's designed well but there are definitely problems with it. I had it on my 99 Eclipse and it cost me a motor (techinically 2). Accuracy has something left to be desired. Seems to read richer than it really is after extended periods of use (like the 8th pass of the day at the strip). I've heard from a few other owners with similar experiences where it reads differently depending on the temp. Obivously I don't have any concrete proof but a blown motor was enough for me not to trust it anymore.

There are cheaper and better units on the market (or at least ones without as many complaints).

I have had mine since last March when my turbo was installed. I like that fact that it has a digital as well as analog read out. The one aspect I don't like is that it only goes down to 11.0 so when the car is running richer, you don't know what the reading is. I found the readings to be accurate compared to profession unit at place that installed turbo.

I have one and the afr matched the dyno almost exactly and at most was off .1

Hmm, I don't like that it only reads down to 11.0 either. I believe the PLX wideband goes down to 10.0, but the gauge isn't as cool as the AEM.

Mine reads down to 10.0

AEM wideband only reads to 11.0 on the gauge. Go with the innovate wideband.

Well the PLX goes down to 10.0 and is only $300 compared to the LM-1 at $400.

The AEM reads down to 10 on the digital readout.

Hey Colin, I'm assuming you have an AEM wideband, how do you like it?

Innovate LC-1 is $200. Get that and a gauge of your own to read or log the output.

Works great, very happy with it.
