Good Investment? (CatBack & COBB) 4port Auto

Hey guys, I'm just about to get the new engine installed in the RX8. Do you think these investments are good?

1: TurboXS CatBack Exhaust (Wondering if this would install on the OEM cat)

2: Cobb Acessport (Wondering if this is even worth it)

3: sohn OMP adapter (Convert the crankcase oil to synthetic & feed 2 stroke directly)

I'm already forking out $3,800 into the engine itself, since the old engine crapped out on me..

Cobb is great if you have an inch of technical ability and can take on modifying your own ROM. Cranking up your OMP rates, lowering fan temp starting points, and a couple other things will go good with your new reman.

You'll have to get a little bit of prefab work done to get the TXS catback to mount up to the stock midpipe. You'd be better off getting a catless midpipe (B&B and BHR are nice and quiet) and mask the resulting CEL with your new AP.

SOHN is awesome but you can basically do the same as it with your AP cranking up OMP rate and premixing 1/2-3/4 ounce per gallon per fill up.

I don't think I'll see major gains with the COBB though, that's my issue. Also regarding the catback exaust, I need to pass my emissions testing & don't want to get ticketed for having no catalytic converter, what catback can I run with the stock midpipe?

About the SOHN adapter, the only reason I wanted to install this is to feed fresh 2stroke into the engine & convert the crankcase oil to fully synthetic. I've heard a lot of people that converted to synthetic oil had longer lasting, quieter & better running engines!

You're not going to see major gains with anything short of a parasitic super charger or a turbo. Trust me on this one... been there, done that.

Another good stability mod are the d585 truck coils... BHR again is the route I would go but there are quite a few options out there now for truck coils.

I've been running full synthetic mobil 1 for quite some time + premixing with no sohn... not sure what you're hung up on there.

*Bump* for teh lulz.

I need more opinions guys.. Also, in regards to the new engine. Is there a break-in period I should know about? Because I don't feel like wiping my bottom with 4k..

There are only a handful of 4 port auto big hp gainers active on the site... fewer than I can count on one hand and I just used up a finger for ya.

Your question has been answered numerous times in numerous threads, please search.

I'd save the turboxs money for a decent catalytic converter. Coils and a tune are a must. So is premixing, even if you go the sohn route.

Did you put a better oil pressure regulator on the new engine? It's less than 60$ yet it makes a world of difference.
I don't have a sohn yet only use synthetic 10w40 oils in my rx8. Nothing bad happened to the engine, yet. I'm on my third transmission but that's another story lol.
