AEM CAI vs the rest?
Hey guys. I just bought an 8 and I was looking into getting a CAI. The only problem is that I live in the Chicago suburbs and it rains, snows, etc... I heard from one of my friends that it's not safe to have a CAI around where I live because the rain might ruin my filter. Upon hearing this I was determined to get a short ram until another friend of mine said that AEM makes CAI's that are weather proof. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I did many forum searches and couldn't find anything on this topic (although I did find A LOT of other useful info). Thanks in advance.

The MS CAI has a sock that goes over the filter that protects it from water. I believe the AEM does as well.

^Correct... AEM also has a sock for the filter.
I've had my AEM CAI for a few years now and never had a problem with it that was caused by weather. Just avoid driving through large puddles (don't submerge the intake filter even with the sock). |
There's nothing quite like the sound of a CAI at 9k.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I guess im going with the AEM CAI then.
