accessport

does anyone in the fredericksburg virginia area have one? I was wondering if anyone would be willing to flash my ecu for me?

invasion08 02-15-2009 07:57 AM

the accessport can only be used on one car at time.

Maybe convince someone to let you buy the AP off of them :)
But invasion08 is right, it can only be installed on one vehicle.

only a matter of time before these questions came up.

My favorite was a customer that sold his AP after he flashed his car.
Didn't uninstall it.
The purchaser, instead of going after the seller, sold it again.
That purchaser then came after me, insisting that he was going to sue me if I didn't make it work on his car.
Fun people.

speaking of the A.P

is there a wait list to get one received? and how long is the wait to get a new map? im ordring one this week. YAY!

MazdaManiac 02-15-2009 05:09 PM

It takes about 11 days to have one shipped, sometimes less, after you have ordered it.
The intial map is an instant download.
The follow-ups can take a few weeks or less, depending on my backlog.

That is actually scary to think about.
To someone who has never owned one and doesn't know that it is assigned to a vehicle until its uninstalled, you might think its defected.
Just goes to show, be careful who you purchase from and make sure it can be returned if it "doesn't work".

not bad maybe il order tonight! order through your website? i was told to see if you can install stage1 on the AP. but youll need all the cars info from it first beofre you can do that huh?

You can ask the seller to give you a pic of the "install" screen on the AP before you buy it.

Good point!

Interesting. I didn't know the AP was tied to the vehicle. I'm coming from the Sys Admin world, where a flash is device-agnostic. I suppose it is done this way for economic/business sense reasons.

BTW, I'm 95% sold on buying one from you, MM. I'm deciding between that purchase and investing in the market. DJI is 7550 right now, music to my ears for someone who hasn't gotten into this stock market yet.

That, and I'm pretty darn close to owning my car outright! But soon. :)
