05' Pearl RX-8 new engine?!?!?

Hey guys, kinda new to this site, but i was just gonna throw out a question, so apparently my 05' Pearl White RX-8 (AT, i know but i got it for free, parents :D ) was about to go out of warranty so like a smart person should i took it in and they found out somehow something about the compression or w.e cause a break in the Apex seals so Maza said their giving me a WHOLE NEW ENGINE... but what im really wondering is it going to be the 05' 197hp one or the 212hp one? (i believe thats what the new AT's have now) So any thoughts? thanks...

it will have the 05 4 port engine. the 6 port engine goes along with the automatic 6 speed.

you have a 4 speed transmission.. so you'll get a 4 port engine.

also, its not going to go out of warranty unless you have 100k miles. mazda increased the warranty on the powertrain to 8 years/100k miles.

So ill be getting the same engine in it??? cus i thought the newer engines were still 4 ports just bumped up in HP....

well i mean i know ill be getting the same engine, but what im wondering is will it have the 197 hp version in it or the 212 hp?

you will be getting the same type of engine....same amount of ports, same amount of HP because of the 4 speed transmission. If you had an 06 or higher AT you would be getting the 212HP engine since it uses a 6 speed automatic transmission and is a 6 port motor.

Damn... well at anyrate i should feel the more power with a new engine... i noticed the engine finding it hard to get to the redline a tad more... now i know the reason... but yeah im just grateful im getting a whole new engine on a 50,000 mile car ya know...

if it had 97,000 miles on it, you'd still get a new motor...

if you want more power, get the turbo xs exhaust and race pipe.

Haha on a AT??? thanks bro but im good... now if it was a 06' or higher i might consider it but 05' with 4 port/ 4speed... meh heh. The only problem im gonna have is the break-in period with the new engine and not wanting to put the type of oil i want in it, reguardless of what yall say im gonna stick with 5w20 Non-syn until the break-in period is gone lol. Then ill get some Royal Purple 5w-20
