This is same design I've had since before you made yours ... only changes I've made were to make the balance pipes curve as shown to favor flow to the WG. But I doubt I'll go back to original...

Like Jedi has said , you need to seal around the radiator . If you look through the front opening at the radiator and can see big gaps ..... then that is where the air will go. Maybe take some pics...

This is a pretty exciting patent just filed recently by Mazda . Looks to me like a small peripheral port (item 14) used to supply EGR to inlet plus it may also be acting as a wastegate for the turbo...
