They just posted the 2014 DGRR dates....third weekend in April!!

I'll be there! Hopefully my buddy will have his FC RX7 up and running by then. He is currently rebuilding the motor and doing an aggressive street port.

My intention is to strip out as much of my interior as I can and still keep it looking clean and functional in a spartan way. Almost everything is out of the back to make room for a half cage, seats and harnesses. I may keep removing more and more. Taking out that awesome red and black interior hurt, it looks so good the way it is. : (

Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well. Im back from all of the wedding celebrating and getting back into real life. I have done a few things since i have been on last. I had to get a new tail light because i had some leakage in one side so i got that fixed. I also ordered some clear corners with hyper white bulbs which should be here by tomorrow! I also just got my fenders rolled!! im ready to order some spacers which I need 25mm in the back and 15mm in the front. John you were right, turns out the lugs are gonna poke out since the 15mm spacer isnt thick enough. the guy that rolled my fenders said that i need to order 15mm spacer and APR lugs separate and have someone put them on. Any advice? For some reason, 25mm sticks way too far out in the front for my car and i need 15mm so thats what i wanna go with.

You could go the extended lug route, but they are a pain in the ass to install.

Heres a thread. (Take note of the lugs he ordered. ARP are very good lugs and you definitely want strong ones. They are usually quite expensive, but he found a way around that by ordering ones for a late GM model, but fit our car.)

Hell yeah me too. Let's try to get our own spot so we can all park together if we have a decent turnout of 8s.

Yo guys, wish I was gonna be in town next weekend. Ignore this 4:30am post by the way... On a Redbull binge finishing a paper due next week. Anyways, I was down in Wilmy this weekend but was super busy both days and am leaving to go back tomorrow. Good news is, John hooked me up with some new plugs and wires, I got new coils, and i did them all this past week, along with cleaning the MAF, tried to get to the ESS but damn that thing was stuck in place. Also threw in some 2500k fogs after seeing John's this summer. Plus i was tired of the un-functional HID match bulbs. Oh and I took out the reflector from inside the foglights, fair warning if you want to be as frustrated as you've ever been with something so insignificant, give that shit a go. Ha about 5 times as bad as removing the reflectors in the corners. Anyways, my gas mileage was basically reborn on the way down here so I'm pumped about that. I've got new shocks in the mail, should be coming soon, just to hold me over until coilovers in the next couple months.

So I've got a couple questions I'd like your guys' opinions on... My proposed plans for mods within the next couple months are one of two things...

Option 1:
Powertrix Coilovers w/ Swift Springs ~$1350
25mm Spacers for Stockers ~$150
Enkei RPF1s 18X9.5 +45 ~$1200

The only drawback to this option is the wait between the coils and the rims (because I'm ballin on a budget here), that's basically what the spacers are for, to keep me satisfied with an aggro look until I get the RPF1s. Also I've read a lot of reviews, even some on other cars with the Powertrix springs vs Swift and people say it's a considerable improvement for $250.

Option 2:
Megan Racing Coilovers (32 way) ~$900
MB Battles 18X9.5 +15 or +30 ~$800
Fender and Wheel Well Mods ~$?

The deal with this is obviously the price difference, or I could even go powertrix no swift and be close, but the thing is I've always wanted RPF1s. I've had this car for 7 years now and I had never found a wheel a liked more. UNTIL I saw these... Gawk over the photos below all you want... The only thing is the mods I'd have to do to fit them. Also I'd want to run a 245 or 255 tire and I know that's going to be impossible and they won't tuck. Also I don't want to go through 3 sets of tires a year because i'm running hella camber. Anyways, chime in with your thoughts... and enjoy your new desktop wallpapers :D:

Hey guys!! Count me in on Saturday. I'm leaving at 3am to be there by 8am..anyone care to PM me their number so in case I have any issues finding my way around town..I can get in touch with ya?

Are they still having it at the BMW place?

My friend and his wife are going to be there but later that afternoon, unfortunately. We still want to take a drive on Old Maple Rd if possible, any opp to open up the car..I'm all in. we will be staying at the Hampton Inn on 17th st.

Know of the best eatery in town? It's been a long time since I visited Wilmington.

Ok first off let's start with coilovers. Obviously, the powertrix with swift springs are going to be best performance wise. If you don't plan on tracking the car and just want the coilovers to get low (like me) then either the Megans or the regular powertrix will do. Wheels are entirely up to you. I like both, but prefer the MB battles. You can fit the 18x9.5 +15 with a 245 without excessive camber. I am running 18x10.5 +22 all around with 255s and my camber is not too crazy. Of course this all depends on how low you go. If you go as low as me then you will have no problem, if not then you will probably will some issues. They do make the battles in 18x9.5 +30. Doesn't have that sick concave, but still nice nonetheless. I feel like the 18x9.5 +45 RPF1s would be sunk a little bit. If it was up to me I would get regular powertrix with the 10k/7k springs (a little more stiff) and the MB Battles with 245/40/18 tires all around. All up to you though man.

Just so everyone knows, this time c&c it at chilis on S College.

Yeah man I gotcha. The only thing would be that if I didn't go as low as you, I'd want to be able to be functional. I don't know if that makes sense, but you're pretty damn low. And that's what I thought would have to happen to get the wheels to fit. And yeah I've done mucho searching and haven't found what the +30 battles look like. Im sure they're still concave but nothing like the +15. And as far as the enkeis go, I feel like I could always add a small spacer if it wasn't aggressive enough... I guess the first step is still coilovers no matter what.

LOWLIFE! Haha well if you don't want to go as low as me I would not get the MB Battles with the +15 offset. +30 Should look good depending on how much you drop it. They have RPF1s in 18X9.5 +38. I think that might be your best option. My shit is still pretty functional as long as there is no speed bumps, pot holes, or dips. I think this weekend after Cars and Coffee we are going to old maple hill rd. My car gets pretty functional there

I really wanted to be there in a clean 8 but I just didn't get out of work in time. I'm glad I got to stop by for a min and my friend had fun. She's a new convert and hooked on 8s now X D By the December C&C my car will be very different from the last time anyone saw it and I can't wait!

It was good to see you for a bit man. Thanks again for the shift knob! I'm looking forward to seeing the transformation.

RedFrame 10-06-2013 06:21 AM

I don't have much left as far as the interior goes. I'm going to remove the 6 disc radio and replace it with a tablet so I don't have a gaping hole or a gauge cluttered interior. After that is done it's suspension/ brakes for a while, I'm going to need your help if you can on the suspension set up.
