Who would like to see an all RX-8 event
What if there was an all RX-8 event to be held, and I mean large event, at VIR some time this summer. We would have a car show, vendor row displaying some of the newest and innovative products out for the RX-8, door prizes, and awards, track time would be allowed, and hopefully we would have demos from teams like SpeedSource and other pro RX-8 race teams. I am gauging interest and gathering information to hold such an event, I plan for this event to be lasrge which means I need sponsers which means I have to prove interest. So who is interested and who would attend? Feel free to check out the VIR site, it is truely a great Complex: www.virclub.com. If anyone has anyother ideas for things to happen at the event please let me know, I have got aslot more planned but I need to do some more research.

Guys I have got alot of big plans, but of course I can't promise anything till I get more people on board. I plan to have alot of people come out and demo there cars, I hope to try and get Speedsource, K&N, and JIC as some to get there RX-8s out there. I also have plans to get some RX-8s out there that we haven't seen yet, ie. prototype cars! I am going to talk to the VIR guys today so I can go ahead and get this thing underway.

That's kind of what I was getting at!
MSCW is the Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington. MSCW also has a separate organization (led by Dave Nugent) that puts on drivers ed events. They hold DE events at VIR (and also Summit Point), one of which is the weekend of June 18th and 19th. The last time I was at an RX-8 event, it was held in conjunction with the VIR track day. Only 2 of us actually entered the track event. The others watched, took pictures, shared stories, and did "parade laps" at lunch time. For those that didn't actually enter the track event, I think it was free or for a nominal fee.
Is this something that sounds good to you?
