July or Autgust will work for me, that will give me a chance to thoroughly kill my tires before replacing them for BotD07:)

If you guys are interested in going to the meet next weekend and are a little warry of driving up, let me know. I can meet you somewhere in Fayetteville or 95 and you can follow me up.

I8U 05-31-2007 05:34 PM

Way to step up Matt. Looks like we are gonna have a good turn outnext weekend!

04BB8 05-31-2007 05:42 PM

I'm trying Nic. Sorry to hear about your plates. They did the samething to me a few years ago when I switched vehicles. But they gave me the option of fighting it, paying a $50.00 fine or turning in my plates for 30 days.

I was able to go into dmv court and prove how stupid they were. In NC you have to have insurance on the car before they let you drive it off the lot. I showed the judge proof of insurance and he dismissed the case and apologized for wasting my time.

I8U 05-31-2007 05:50 PM

Well, I have to pay a $100 plus my registration cuz I'm getting a new personal plate. So, $158 total...whatever atleast I get them in 2 weeks.

04BB8 05-31-2007 05:56 PM

what's the new plate going to be? I thought about getting "got oil?" but can't seem to make up my mind on whether i really want that or not.

I8U 05-31-2007 06:17 PM

That's a good one but no. The new one is gonna read NOPISTNS.

toree45 05-31-2007 06:27 PM

Were you driving down Millbrook last Saturday? I saw someone in a VR in the other lane. I was in a Pantom Blue.

mrthundercleese 05-31-2007 09:50 PM

toree, obligated to come to next weekends cook out :). How many people do we have. So far I've got:

MilkCartonMan
Agent Of Chaos
I8U+1
hough2696
marcus321
NoTears316
Pink Flea
toree45 (obligated haha)
04BB8 (I just now understand your forum name )

Anyone I miss? Anyone else?

The time has been decided. We want everyone to show up between 12 and 1. We will start cooking at 1. Since it closes at 5, a 1pm cook time will give us plenty of time to cook , chill, and eat.

Gary, backwoods drive afterwards?

Pink Flea 06-01-2007 09:02 AM

The cookout is on the 10th right?
Hough, I want to get up with you about those tires before we go up too! Cant wait to see everyone.

I8U 06-01-2007 09:03 AM

^Yes the 10th.

hough2696 06-01-2007 09:05 AM

Hey Yall!!! Yeah Pink, if you want to meet up this weekend sometime, we can do that and you can look @ the tires & see if you want them.

Hey Nic and Gary, I don't think I will be able to make the next meet so take some pictures. It looks like it will be a good turn out. Have you guys signed up for the next MazdaDrivers HPDE out at VIR?

mrthundercleese 06-01-2007 01:32 PM

I thought about doing the HPDE but weddings make me poor :( .. my priorities are all screwed up!

No HPDE for me...I'm joining the Tarheel Sports Car Club to compete in their autoX points series! Plus, I'll be racing at VIR for GT Live! My HPDE's consist of driving all these back country roads and trying to dodge all the road kill. haha

Racing at VIR/GT Live Nic? How did you pull that off? And will you be using your car? And if you are doing autoX did you invest in another set of wheels/tires? You know you will be eating those street tires doing the series.

mrthundercleese 06-01-2007 03:22 PM

Racing at GT Live = Tarzan's lap battle. I'm going to compete as well. Last year, only Jonny competed from our group and won it so this year I'm calling it project 'go faster than Jonny in my stock RX-8' :).

Click here to check it out. I'm doing GT Live promotions again this year. I'd love to see some 100 Mazdas show up to MazdaSport's Mazda Days meet and exceed the expectations of the coordinators. Last year we were expected to have the least number of participants out of all of the car meets they hosted (subaru, nissan, and mitsu were the other meets last year). We pretty much met expectations last year...

GT Live is October 6 and 7 at VIR. Last year they used the ~2mile patriot course for the lap battle. No clue what the setup will be this year, probably much of the same. I'll be posting up more information as I get it. Hopefully no rain this year.
