I hate going to hialeah, i like it when they have the event at homstead, they usually switch every 2 or 3 races.
|
Yeah, that WAS true, but we cannot get Homestead to commit to any dates now. I will be going over to Ft. Myers this weekend. They have their autocrosses usually on the first weekend of the month. Here is the website with more details:

I updated my first post to include all the information shared. Thanks everyone!
I may even make a video section. |
DJ? are you trolling in here? Go buy the RX8 for B-Stock already!
|
oh, I forgot to mention :pat:
Feb 7th is the last day to register for Feb 11th's AutoX at Hialeah www.DriverRegistration.com www.ERSCC.com |
Believe it or not, I will probably get a Mini S. Although I am still looking at a bunch of things. I think the tire bill will be too high for me to get a RX8 and afford the house I am buying. I will most likely stay in the Miata for a while.

Not on an autocross course. If I was going to buy something without worrying if it is competitive, I would just buy the Mazdaspeed 3. The Mini S is the top car in its class, and there are no cars on the horizon that look to displace it. Right now the Mini has the cheapest cost of entry (Car and tire price) and pays the highest at Tours and Pros. Besides that I can't see driving around town with a bulb out somewhere... every VW I see has a bulb out somewhere.

I drive a VW jetta at autocrosses and beat out mini's, I havent gone for a while since the begining of last season and I don't know if that means anything to you either. Also that bulb comment is so untrue. Bulbs go out, period, they dont last forever. |
Locally, anybody can win in just about anything...except Alex in STU! When you are talking about on a national scale (i.e.: SCCA Solo Nationals), you need the best car in class to win. Don't take this the wrong way either, I am not knocking anyone, its just that the Mini S is the car to have in GS... technically it should be classed in DS, its that fast.
As for the bulb thing, it was a joke. It just seems like every VW I see has one bulb out somewhere. |
eh, i guess if you prefer mini's i hate them, and would be very uncomfortable driving them.
|
Its not what I prefer. If the fastest car in that class was a Geo Metro, people would buy the Geo. I am just looking at the cheapest car to have that is nationally competitive. Here is a list by class:
SS: GT3, Z06, Elise course dependant AS: S2000 BS: RX8 CS: Solstice (ZOK impossible to get) ES: 2nd gen MR2 DS: Type R, 330ci FS: '05 Mustang Mach I GS: '05+ Mini S, maybe '07 Mini S HS: '05+ Mini, Mazda 3 S Of those the Mini and the Mini S have the cheapest tire cost of the NEWER cars. For example: BS RX8 $1200 per set GS Mini S $700 per set (16" size) |
