Service Experience - Russel Mazda Clearwater, FL

Just picked my 8 back up from Russell. I was due for an oil change and while I was there pointed out my nasty looking headlight covers (sorry, no pics), my busted sliding console door and the metal worn off the shift knob.

They called and talked me into the 7500 mile service. I am at 8500 miles so this seemed like a good idea. From what I can tell, all the 7500 mile service does is add a tire rotate and balance to the oil change.

They changed the headlight covers under warranty and ordered a new shift knob and console door. Take care of your headlight covers. Those would have cost $750 if they hadn't covered them.

They were really nice about all of it. They probably could have told me too bad on the shift knob but they didn't.

This is my second time in for Service at Russell and both times I have had a really good experience. I figured since everyone is so quick to post bad experiences, that I should post when I have a good experience as well.

My only minus is that the sticker they put in for the oil change reminder says I am due again in 3000 miles. The manual says otherwise. They should know this (or else they don't care).

Check your door, they probably gave you the M flash too!

I have VERY good experiences with Russell. I just got an oil change there Friday, and brought in the TSB for the M flash and they did it.. also Changed my plugs because I had a random misfire.. They changed my tranny out without problem!

I saw another forum member there at the same time and they gave him the M flash also.

Where on the door? I'll have to check that when i go home tonight. I have notcied that they prefer to give you a ride somewhere rather than give out a loaner but that doesn't bother me too much. They dropped me off and picked me up from work.

On the driver's side.. Next to the dash on the frame of the car..

I've gotten loaners every time.. you just have to call a day or two in advance and tell them you need one..

So far, I had:

Bravado
Miata
millinium
protoge

nothing in that spot on my car. Seems to drive the same as it did before. The rides a little different but the tire rotation and pressure adjustment on the tires will do that. Power feels the same.
