I partially tore ligaments in this ankle in college, running. it is just a weak ankle, and that sucks. I already have slight trouble with my heel n' toe work as a result, this will not help things much.

dbright007 03-26-2008 10:10 AM

L8 ya big goof!
Rest that ankle. Keep it taped and stay off of it as much as possible.
When you see the current entry list, your REALLY not gonna wanna miss this.

I am sure some more names will be added, but right now the weblist shows like 13 ppl in DE3, 10 in DE4, Maybe 15 TT signed up.
Pantas has already said right now there is only one combined 1a/2a group. And no Blitz.

I don't remember CMP being this poorly attended last year, but after all the hub-bub about lack of time at RA, and what looks to be a real low turnout - I bet there is going to be a good bit of track time to be had. Even with no blitz, and any pair of groups combined it should be back to normal.

then there is no f'n way I am missing, if there are only 13 cars in DE3, that will be pure track time. OnRails and I can have the track to ourselves...almost. That will kick ass. I really want another low car count weekend, I want to work on a few things, and I don't want other cars around to get involved in the event I do it wrong.

dbright007 03-26-2008 10:37 AM

Oh Jeebus... L8 "working on things"

I've been watching the famous 4th session video from last time. I need to learn how to do what you were doing from 1 through 5. You were gaining ground like crazy every time through.

Heal up that ankle! It's dueling midpipes time!

I had a good coach sitting shotgun.

If I can remember that far back, most of the ground I made up on you was in the carousel. Our lines were very different, and i carried more speed and had less steering input, based on what I saw in your onboard vids. But I would be glad to go out and play chase some more, that was great fun. maybe we can talk TA into joining us, and have all three Ti's out there in a line.

ankle is doing better, still sore, still a little swollen. But I managed a couple heel n toes this morning on the way in, so we are getting there.

That's dedication right there.

Startlogic (Stoplogic) is doing maintenance to the servers and upgrading software to make things "better"! They have totally screwed-the-pooch. A lot of people are having problems from what I understand. They get a big angry call from me this evening. I'm really sorry for any problems it may be causing.

Well in true form, I have hit a snag .... BUT I AM STILL COMING TO THE EVENT !!!

:).

I just won't have my stuff on the car just yet. With all the travel over the past 8 weeks, (5 days a week), I haven't had time to get the car stuff over, back, down, and on. So, tomorrow, the car goes to a buddies shop for brake bleeding, a G-Trac bar, new brake pads (CMP Must), and new rotors. The strut tower brace will have to wait, as will the ducts. I am going ahead and doign the rear gear though, the 3.55's are just too much with the modified tranny.

Oh well, enough rambling, see you guys soon.

L8APEX 04-01-2008 08:21 AM

yeah, um, I am SOOOO ready to go. Something about it, when you put the track pads on, and get the sticky tires out, something in the brain clicks. I was threshold braking all the way to work today. Nice heel n toe at a couple corners, ankle still not thrilled about it, and in general, really ready to hit the track.

3 DAYS!!

Stop&TurnFreak 04-01-2008 09:17 AM

I am siked too, I can't wait to get there. It has been 18m since my last event in July, I can't wait.

Schedule updated. DE1 /2 grew large enough compared to what Jim had said earlier. Still might see a combined 3/4 as 4 is really empty.
I hear ya L8, I am ready to get excited, but too damn busy. I get about an hour morning to be think about it and then back to the salt mine......:cussing:

I see TA2 is joining us...

dbright007 04-01-2008 10:34 AM

I thought I remembered this-
There was a post on the NASA forums before the last event.
It seems the skidpad was open for rent last time! 200 ft/ 50ft wide.
$75/hr dry
$100/hr wet

I would be so down for this!

L8APEX 04-01-2008 10:39 AM

skidpad would be fun, wet, with street tires.

Might be fun. So how woulld one use it properly if not just doing it for kicks? I guess you would need a tire temp probe or something like that?

SilverEIGHT 04-01-2008 06:43 PM

Do figure 8's and kick the back end out and manage to keep the car under control even though the car has lost traction and the tail is moving out. The key is to make the rear wheels spin just a little faster than the car is going. If you give it too much then you are going to spin out. Reaching break neck speeds of 10 MPH is not out of line. At least that is what we did at BMP with the ALSCCA. I've never done the round skid pad. I like the figure 8 because it gives you left and right turns.

Me on the SkidPad
Mustang on the pad while I wait my turn

something about the seats being out, makes me really get on it a little more, it is soooo much louder in the car with the seats out....too much fun.

OnRails 04-02-2008 09:57 AM

Schedule is up.

Looks like we are going to get lots of good track time in 3/4. Two 25 minute sessions on Sunday! Four each day. Hope the weather this weekend is better than it has been all week.
