Hurricane got you down?..........Monday morning.....

Well I arrived at work this morning at 7:30 after driving an hour through the rain. My RX-8 did well, itreally kept me on the road during some serious sliding. LSD/ DSC may eat a bit more gas, but worth it in my opinion. The power has gone out 3x already and it appears to be a slow day in the making. I am up in the Tampa area so the weather is just crappy and windy.

I hope all of you are okay further south. This hurricane should be past by 2pm and then on to cooler weather.

Anyone else have experiences with this storm that they would like to share?

Hey if anyone is in the Naples area, I'd love to hear how the city survived. My parents have a place there and are very worried about storm surge and flooding possibilities.

My parents place in Naples didn't have that much damage.. a bit of tin from the roof (luckily it was an overroof), and the Lanai supports failed.. but the main place, car port, etc are all in tact and apparently dry.

Neighbors across the street lost their roof. But said at least initially very little water damage due to mostly wind and almost no rain.

well where do i start...

A tree brushed against my car, damaged the paint, part off my house roof is gone, my fence is gone and couple of trees are gone. I also had about a foot of water in my street which was flooded. I have no power no water and just a phone line which i got back today. I have very little gas too...

A plam tree eased onto my car midway through the storm. I went out immediately after the storm and checked for scratches. There were none. I got lucky Another bigger plam tree was hanging over my car. I later moved my car and cut the palm down after the storm. If it had fallen on my car it would have been crushed. That thing weighs a **** load. The first palm has very thin and light. I got REALLLLLLY lucky. the bigger palm was literally 2 ft above my car, hanging.... I don't know how it stayed up.

screen enclosure over pool is gone.
roof leakages.
Downed trees everywhere.
no power for 2 days. I got lucky again.

95% of broward is without power. I'm in the 5% with power

I live in coral springs, and there are a **** load of trees. Most of them went down. Its like a horrible movie. so unreal.

Well, Sarah and I made it through allright. We had power restored last night. Even though gas is a problem, I can offer a hot shower and laundry capability to anyone who needs it.

This one was scary. Our windows at our apartment face due west, and took the full brunt of that nasty second half. The wind caused our shutters to flex. The pressure buildup from that made our WINDOWS flex. The pressure from the windows flexing caused our blinds to flutter. Our 3 story concrete building was shaking.

A building next to where I work in boynton beach shifted off its foundation. My office didn't fare so well either. Losing about half of the roof.

On the bright side, Sarah and I have met a lot of great new friends. Neighbors we never even knew we had. For the nights we didn't have power we've been grilling, drinking, and chatting for hours. So at least something good came from all of this.

I'm glad to see everyone reporting in that the're ok. Maybe at the next auto-x, meet, bbq, whatever, we can all trade hurricane stories. :D

Oh. Almost forgot. My 8 made it through ok. One scratch on the fender, and some shallow scratches on the windshield.

I got some pics from around my house and office area. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/sind10...LF61DB1LJlSW1a

Thankfully nothing too bad except a lot of trees down. Lost power Monday @ 8 am got it back Weds @ 8 am. I've basically had a vacation this week since there's no power at my office which means no phone...

I did get a lot of grass and crap all over my car and it kinda stained it in some places. I've already washed it and was surprised at where some stuff was hidden and embedded. I've waxed the car and will have to do it again to get some of the pesky stains off .

Just greatful everything else is good.

Still no power and bored out of my mind. once i find a way to get a power socket i will upload my pics to show you alot more damage than you think broward got..

p.s i am so tired of news saying miami and west palm beach got hit hard and broward does not even exist in the news. Also miami has over 50% power back and broward has 22% with power.

On battery operated radio they said that my area wont have power till nov 22

Yeah they were saying that most broward residents wont have power until November 22nd. Weird thing is the news i've seen actually says MOST of the damage was in Broward county. Yeah there was some in Miami Dade but not as bad as Broward.
