CEL solid with temperature spikes
 

Hey,
Tonight I got the CEL on and it's solid, not flashing. Also when it came up the temperature gauge was way high for like a few seconds and then went down to normal temp with the light still on. I drove home and the light was still on and the temp spiked 2 times more and back to normal. WTH is going on?

Any help is appreciated.

Previously answered:

Advanced auto or a store similar has code readers, you can pick one up for 30 bucks so you always have it or they offer to read the codes for free.

But without knowing which code, you might as well ask a blind man help you across the street.
