Auburn Rx8s reveal yourselves!
I have seen about 10 rx8s (maybe more) in Auburn. I do not know any of the owners though. Is anybody interested in getting together?
For real...None of you hangs out on the forum?
Its kinda slim pickins to get people in Alabama to get together for meets. Sometimes there are meets in Birmingham for Rotary owners in general. I try to go to Florida (because I live in Dothan, AL) because that is usually where it is happening. Hopefully you find some people though!

I will go to Pensacola, that group of guys are a good bunch. I know its a bit of a drive from Auburn, but if you can get it on a weekend when they all get together, it would be worth your trip. If I was at home right now we could get up and make a drive that way, but Im kinda on the other side of the world.

Yea man no problem...A good place to keep up with these guys is in the "Anyone In The Pensacola Area" portion of this forum (SE Forum). That is where they usually post when they are going to meet and where. But keep this on the DL because me being an Alabama fan, my buddies may not appreciate the fact I am helping an Auburn fan out. LoL!

i graduated in 03! war eagle. you'll probably see my rx8 this football season. 12-0!
Let me know when you come down here! Can't wait for football season this year! We all belive that it is going to be exceptional!
yeah, definitely. cam newton is badass. if fannin, mccalleb and dyer can get it together in the backfield, and defense comes together like i think it will, we're going to be unstoppable.

My first semester down here hangin out in Auburn w/ my '10 '8. I would definitely want to hang out with some other Mazda guys one weekend, or even after class one day.
^Welcome to Auburn and wish you a good semester! What are you studying?
I am in Montgomery and obviously keep running into the same wave no response/uninterested people here. For those around here, we could even maybe get together and try and make it out to the last event or two of autocross if you guys are interested. There is one in Bham every month, as well as down in Dothan. Also I would consider myself an Auburn fan, so if any of you guys in Auburn were to organize some sort of shin-dig involving watching a game, I could definitely make it for that.
Kevin unfortunately not many people are interested in getting together. Most of them just do not care:( The autocross events sound like lots of fun. Do you have any more info? Dates?
http://www.sccawiregrass.org/
That is the website for the wiregrass event down in Dothan. The next autocross there is 14th of Nov. The only one left up in birmingham is their charity event, which is a pay per run thing that would probably be disorienting for all of us newcomers. I have not been to an event down in Dothan, but i have heard good things, and they have a lot more space available for their course than the Bham people do. As long as i can get two new tires before then, I plan on going, and maybe a couple of my car people from here will be willing to go to. Ill keep ya posted here, and if anyone else is interested in going to autocross we could definitely get a group together to go. |
Kevin thanks for the info. I saw some videos they posted on the wiregrass forum and it seems fun. I am seriously thinking of trying this event out. It will be my first time autocrossing! I assume that all somebody needs is a helmet. Do I have to buy one or they provide helmets at the event? I plan in tuning up the car next month, decarbon it, oil change, my tires have 4000 miles...so I should be ready to autocross:)
