Attn: Orlando & Central Florida Peeps! Need Your Feedback!!

Ok, so RX8honey and I would like some feedback in regards to future Orlando meets. Would you like to see weekly,bi-weekly or monthly meets? We're trying to gauge interest for a weekly or bi-weekly meet. Just 8's or even an all rotary event. Please feel free to give us any feedback. Thanks!

If we keep things small and local, the frequency rate can be high. But if we try to do a statewide meet 2-3 times a year, the interest level can increase.

This is my last semester @ Rollins and thus my last semester in Orlando. Thats why I voted for 2 meetings/month. If there's only one meeting per month and it happens to be during a fraternity party....heh. I'd like to at least meet up with ya'll a few times. I think it would be fun.

Some variations I had in mind might be possibly a Zaino meet or even a mod meet. Where people could help one another with Zainoing or small mods people wanted done that other more experienced members could help with. Or just some time to hang out together. I've discussed this with my boss and he's hinted that we can do some of these meets in the parking area of our offices. Plenty of parking, electrical outlets,semi-secluded area etc,etc.... Just a suggestion.

I voted monthly, although I have only been to 2 of them. I just know how hard it is to make it to 1 a month, let alone more. I would be afraid with more the meets would get smaller ad they can miss one and just go to the next one. If they are too far apart people loose interest.

So I say monthly then try to have 1 or 2 BIG ones a year.

That's cool! Right now we're just gauging interest in different kinds of meets and the frequency of them.

OBTIQ 01-12-2006 09:23 PM

well if it's the orlando meet ... every saturday there is a crap load of cars that meet up around east colonial.. and obt.... it would be nice to actually go up there one time with a couple more 8's... im usually the only one there... except for one other guy wit a blue 8

tiggerlee 01-12-2006 09:26 PM

Oh btw, this isn't meant to replace the monthy O-town meet. Just to supplement it and do some different things.

Rhawb 01-12-2006 10:16 PM

I voted bi-weekly. I think weekly is a bit too frequently and would be more prone to falling apart. Bi-weekly allows for some planning time and everything so we can still manage a decent turnout, plus there would be more dates for the folks who can rarely make it *AHEM* :p:

tiggerlee 01-12-2006 10:28 PM

^Ok I'll add you to the "bi" list. :p: :mdrmed:

tiggerlee 01-12-2006 10:31 PM

Rhawb have you signed up yet? I didn't see your name on the list. http://flrx8club.net

D'oh. Nope. Been busy with school, so internet has been put on the back burner. Will be signed up momentarily.

I like the idea of making them activity oriented. The bigger meets have been meet and eat. I wouldn't mind learning stuff, seeing stuff, helping out or getting help.

I too thought it was a cool idea. So far I've gotten some good feedback about different activities we could do. RX8honey and I would like a Zaino meet, since we're both Zaino newbs it might be helpful to have some expertise there. People get tired of the same thing all the time and by scheduling different things I think we could increase attendance. :)

I have done the full Zaino treatment to mine... once. It is ia helluva lot of work and you need a constant supply of towels :) Since mine is garaged all the time, it's been about a year and a half since I did it and not looking forward to doing it again, but I would happily instruct. Claybarring is actually kind of fun but that might just be because it's the first thing you do and not burned out yet.

I have had a bunch of front bumper chips that I have wanted to touch up for ages. If it warms up enough tomorrow I might give it a go. I bought the stuff to flatten the globs (can't remember what its called and too lazy to go look for it right now). If that goes well, that can be part of a detailing/prep day.

Ok...I will chime in......

Monthly is a good "scheduled" meet with an occasional "special event" meeting when necessary. Like if there is a Drag/AutoX/Show in the area then add that. So my vote is definitely schedule one big monthly meet foremost.

Also on another note...there is nothing wrong with posting a "I will be here, who is with me kinda thing".

I will be moving to Orlando this month for a new job. I'm used to monthly meetings, monthly scenic drives, autocrosses and other activities which I have helped organize, run or just attended with the Mazda Sportscar Club of Washington. Maybe some of these things will work in Florida, too.:D:

Think I should bring the snow tires for good luck:Wconfused
