20b engine swap

i currently have an rx-8 that needs a new engine and i am currently looking to replace the engine, the dealership will not cover the recall due to the fact of perfomance parts on the vehicle, i am stuck between doing a 13b TT or a 20b TT any sugestions? and what all would i need to do for a swap? the rotary engine is all new to me.

search for people who have already swapped out their engines. The list is long, and by asking, it shows that you have failed to research this topic. Find a flame-retardant suit before it gets to messy!! Or, delete this thread and start reading ;)

This. I do understand that the organization of this site is a bit lacking, but these questions are easily answered with the search function. Unless you are rich or an excellent mechanic/fabricator, dont bother.

define performance parts... You should be calling Mazda NA and raising hell about the dealer and demand that your warranty work be done, assuming that you didn't do something that broke it like forced induction, nitrous, or not change the oil.

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C))

This federal law regulates warranties for the protection of consumers. The essence of this law concerning aftermarket auto parts is that a vehicle manufacturer may not condition a written or implied warranty on the consumers using parts or services which are identified by brand, trade, or corporate name (such as the vehicle makers brand) unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. The law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying the warranty. However, the law's protection does not extend to aftermarket parts in situations where such parts actually caused the damage being claimed under the warranty. Further, consumers are advised to be aware of any specific terms or conditions stated in the warranty which may result in its being voided. The law states in relevant part:

“No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumers using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of thewarranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name....” (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)).
