Looks interesting.
Why is the drain on the side of the side tank rather than the bottom?
That's going to make air sealing a little harder, and draining too.

Because there is no end tank on the bottom of the radiator... coolant flows horizontally, not vertical like stock.

Thank you for your help, but I'm not that dumb.

There is an end tank on the end and there appears to be more than an inch square of area on the bottom of it.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback on the V2, glad to hear you like it!

Certainly, the core thickness is 2 1/4" which is the same as the V1, it's worked very well for the RX-8 so we opted to stick with it!

"Why is the drain on the side of the side tank rather than the bottom?"

We really wanted a specific end tank size and overall core dimension from a performance perspective so that combined with factory style lower mounting pins eliminates the space for both. Draining is actually pretty straight forward and if you opt for a sealed up frontal opening making a simple remote drain hose with a petcock is a pretty common thing to do. If you are we will be happy to supply the parts to help with that, just let me know!

For those that have already purchased a unit thank you, we appreciate your business! We do have a few more units from this run available at this discounted price!

Mine was installed on my car by the RX Tuner himself. I saw it last week when the car got off the truck. I will take pictures of it when I go visit the car next week. Its a big honking thing, I gotta tell you.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the brief delay, we were supporting customers competing in the SCCA national runoffs at Daytona and it got a little crazy around here. Fortunately things are back to normal and it appears some of the radiators are delivered and others are close behind!

We do still have a couple more in stock at the discounted price boxed and ready to ship!

Thanks guys, we appreciate your business and continued support, Scott

Fedex says delivery failed. "Direct signature required" whatever that means. But there was no note left on any door, window, lamp post, or lawn ornament. I work all day and the Fedex depot is on the other side of the state. This could get fun. Or not.

Edit: Fedex let me redirect to a pack-and-ship location near my house. Whew!

Drain plug?

Went and saw the car yesterday. Stood in the engine bay, got a view I had never seen before. Did not get any good pictures of the radiator, I will try again tomorrrow. The one thing that Ari had to ask me about was that he couldnt find the radiator drain plug. Instead, he pulled off the lower hose and drained it into a bucket. I am sure there is a reason for Scott designing it this way, but we found it a bit odd. I was also surprised to see that there is space between the crossmember and the radiator, so larger fans could be installed if you wanted. I was thinking that since it was double pass / dual core, it would be too thick. Instead, there is definitely some wiggle room.

If anyone has any questions, or wants to see a specific piece, please let me know and I can PM you a picture.

Hey Chris!

Actually your specific unit didn't have a drain because it was the last pre-production unit. All current production models that have been shipped and all future models will have one. I'd like to catch up, I'll call you later!

Jumping into this thread as I just purchased one from Scott. Looking forward to receiving and installing. I've had a helluva time keeping the car under 235-240F on the track, even after installing the Singular Hood Louvers (i have thread on that installation somewhere on this site).

Fingers crossed this solves it for good.
