Can I ask why taking over someone's payments is preferable to you, rather than just buying one used and getting a loan?

Well, I figured I'd throw up an offer to take over payments and see if anyone is interested. I'm just as interested in buying a used one, and i've been looking at all the ones posted. I'm looking for a rather good price though. =]
